Contract Builds on Sapient's Success Providing Strategic Services that Improve Forensic Evidence Management, Transparency, and Accuracy

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Sapient Government Services, a subsidiary of Sapient (NASDAQ: SAPE), today announced an award by the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to support the implementation of INNOVARi, a strategic forensic management program for the FBI's Laboratory Division (LD) and Operational Technology Division (OTD). The INNOVARi program has created an automated information management and evidence tracking system to ensure all forensic evidence is properly handled and the information produced in connection with forensic examinations is managed for the FBI, as well as its Federal, state, local, and international law enforcement customers. The contract, valued at up to $15M over a five-year period, will allow Sapient and the FBI to continue supporting INNOVARi in the LD and extend it into the OTD to fully realize the Bureau's vision for the program.

"Sapient Government Services is committed to helping government agencies leverage technology to become more efficient and effective in order to make a positive impact on society," said Cindi Marsden, Vice President and Managing Director, Sapient Government Services. "We look forward to serving as the sole source contractor helping the FBI support the INNOVARi program, which is improving the information capture and evidence handling portions of the forensic business process."

As the world's premier crime laboratories, the FBI's LD and OTD manage millions of pieces of physical and digital evidence. Since 2005, Sapient has been providing strategic business process management (BPM) services that have helped the FBI remain the benchmark in forensic evidence control and accuracy. The INNOVARi program, which supports the data collection, archiving, reporting and performance management responsibilities of both divisions, has increased efficiencies across the entire forensic examination and evidence handling process and improved accountability and consistency.

"The Sapient team is honored to continue the strategic development of processes and systems that will help the world's premier crime laboratories retain the highest degree of accuracy and accountability," said Meg Hobler, Director and BPM Practice Lead, Sapient Government Services.
