S&P Announces Changes to U.S. Indices (OXY for LEH, HRS for LEH, GEF for HRS)

Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. (NYSE: LEH) will be removed from the S&P 100 and S&P 500 indices after the close of trading on Tuesday, September 16. The company has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Lehman’s place in the S&P 100 will be taken by S&P 500 constituent Occidental Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: OXY), Lehman’s place in the S&P 500 will be taken by S&P MidCap 400 constituent Harris Corp. (NYSE: HRS), and Harris Corp. will be replaced by Greif Inc. (NYSE: GEF) in the S&P MidCap 400, all after the close of trading on Friday, September 19.
