Kura Oncology (NASDAQ: KURA) 47.9% HIGHER; In the company’s Phase 2 trial of tipifarnib in HRAS mutant solid tumors, positive clinical activity, including objective responses, has been observed in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinomas and patients with salivary gland cancer. Based on these responses, enrollment will be expanded to an additional seven patients.

Avinger, Inc. (Nasdaq: AVGR) 17% LOWER; announced the pricing of its public offering of 8,572,000 shares of its common stock at a price to the public of $3.50 per share.

Gulf Resources (NASDAQ: GURE) 17% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.28, versus $0.23 reported last year. Revenue for the quarter came in at $47.6 million, versus $49.35 million reported last year.

Aegean Marine (NYSE: ANW) 16.8% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.32, $0.09 better than the analyst estimate of $0.23. Revenue for the quarter came in at $987.6 million versus the consensus estimate of $899.63 million.

Macy's (NYSE: M) 15% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.54, $0.09 better than the analyst estimate of $0.45. Revenue for the quarter came in at $5.87 billion versus the consensus estimate of $5.74 billion. Comparable sales on an owned plus licensed basis were down by 2.0 percent in the second quarter. On an owned basis, second quarter comparable sales declined by 2.6 percent. The difference between the year-over-year change in total and comparable sales largely resulted from the closing of 41 underperforming Macy’s stores in fiscal 2015. Macy's reaffirmed FY2016 guidance. To close 100 stores.

Kohl's Corp. (NYSE: KSS) 10.6% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $1.22, $0.19 better than the analyst estimate of $1.03. Revenue for the quarter came in at $4.18 billion versus the consensus estimate of $4.16 billion. Comps fell 1.8%. GUIDANCE: Kohl's Corp. sees FY2016 EPS of $3.80-$4.00, versus prior guidance of $4.05-$4.25 and the consensus of $3.83.

Omeros Corporation (NASDAQ: OMER) 10.6% LOWER; announced an agreement to sell $40 million of shares of its common stock toCantor Fitzgerald & Co., as the sole underwriter, in a registered underwritten public offering.

Ocular Therapeutix (NASDAQ: OCUL) 10.2% HIGHER; JMP Securities initiated coverage with a Market Outperform rating and a price target of $21.00.

Amarin Corporation plc (Nasdaq: AMRN) 10.2% LOWER; announced the pricing of an underwritten public offering of 21,100,000 American Depositary Shares at a price to the public of $2.85 per ADS

Alimera Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: ALIM) 9.2% LOWER; announced the pricing of an underwritten public offering of 18,000,000 shares of its common stock at a price to the public of $1.40 per share.

Himax Technologies (NASDAQ: HIMX) 8.9% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.12, $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of $0.10. Revenue for the quarter came in at $201.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $198.61 million.

Shake Shack (NYSE: SHAK) 7.2% LOWER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.14, $0.01 better than the analyst estimate of $0.13. Revenue for the quarter came in at $66.5 million versus the consensus estimate of $63.11 million. Comps rose 4.5 percent, versus a gain of 5.4 percent expected. For the fiscal year ending December 28, 2016, the Company sees revenue between $253 million and $256 million (vs. $245 million to $249 million). (The Street sees revenue of $252 million.)

Brinker International (NYSE: EAT) 7% HIGHER; reported Q4 EPS of $1.24, $0.01 better than the analyst estimate of $1.23. Revenue for the quarter came in at $881.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $881.43 million. GUIDANCE: Brinker International sees FY2017 EPS of $3.40-$3.50, versus the consensus of $3.54.

CPI Card Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: PMTS) 6.5% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.05, $0.01 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.06. Revenue for the quarter came in at $73.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $69.45 million. CPI Card Group, Inc. sees FY2016 EPS of $0.50-$0.53. CPI Card Group, Inc. sees FY2016 revenue of $335-345 million. announced that David Brush will resign from his position as Chief Financial Officer effective December 31, 2016.

Alibaba (NYSE: BABA) 5.4% HIGHER; reported Q1 EPS of RMB4.90, RMB0.70 better than the analyst estimate of RMB4.20. Revenue for the quarter came in at RMB32.2 billion versus the consensus estimate of RMB30.2 billion.

Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE: CHK) 5.4% HIGHER; announced that it has entered into an agreement to convey its interests in the Barnett Shale operating area located in North Texas to Saddle Barnett Resources, LLC ("Saddle Resources"), a company backed by First Reserve, a leading global private equity and infrastructure investment firm exclusively focused on energy, and simultaneously terminate future commitments associated with this asset.

Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ: YHOO) 3.4% HIGHER; up on BABA

Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF) 2% HIGHER; director Gordon Crawford acquired 50,000 shares on August 9 at $21.70.

Blue Buffalo Pet Products (NASDAQ: BUFF) 1.8% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.19, $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of $0.17. Revenue for the quarter came in at $287 million versus the consensus estimate of $282 million. GUIDANCE: Blue Buffalo Pet Products sees FY2016 EPS of $0.74-$0.76, versus the consensus of $0.75. Blue Buffalo Pet Products sees FY2016 revenue of $1.14-1.15 billion, versus the consensus of $1.14 billion.
