Pre-Open Movers 4/7: LifeCell (LIFC) Up on Buyout, WaMu (WM) Higher on Possible Cash Infusion; ScanSource (SCSC) Lower on Guidance

ScanSource, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCSC) 17% LOWER; announced that sales results for its quarter ended March 31, 2008, are expected to be in range of $509 to $515 million, which is below the consensus of $562.6 million.

LifeCell Corporation (NASDAQ: LIFC) 16.8% HIGHER; Kinetic Concepts, Inc. (NYSE: KCI) and LifeCell Corporation announced that they have signed a definitive agreement whereby KCI will acquire LifeCell for $51.00 per share, or $1.7 billion in cash.

Washington Mutual (NYSE: WM) 14.5% HIGHER; According to reports from the Wall Street Journal, private equity firm TPG and others are close to a deal to invest $5 billion in embattled savings and loan Washington Mutual. The new funds will help lift capital pressure at the company, which has seen massive losses due to the subprime crisis.

Vignette Corporation (NASDAQ: VIGN) 13% LOWER; says preliminary results indicate Q1 revenue will be in the range of $44-$45 million with license revenue for the quarter to be approximately 21% to 23% of total revenue. (Q1 revenue consensus is $47.60 million). Vignette also expects Q1 non-GAAP net income to be between $0.07 and $0.11 per share on a fully diluted basis. (EPS consensus is $0.17)

EMCORE Corporation (Nasdaq: EMKR) 8% HIGHER; announced that, following its annual shareholders' meeting, its Board of Directors had elected a new Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and also authorized planning for a separation of its two business lines.

DryShips, Inc. (NASDAQ: DRYS) 6% HIGHER; Mentioned positively in Barron's

UBS AG (NYSE: UBS) 5% HIGHER; Merrill upgrades to Buy

Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan, Inc. (NYSE: POT) 2.3% HIGHER; Goldman raises its price target and EPS estimates.

KLA-Tencor Corp. (NASDAQ: KLAC) 1.9% HIGHER; Citi upgrades to Buy

Yahoo! (Nasdaq: YHOO) 1.8% LOWER; Suitor Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) threatened a proxy contest and lower bid.

United States Steel (NYSE: X) 1.6% HIGHER; Morgan upgrades to Overweight
