Pre-Open Movers 3/25: Monsanto (MON) Up on Raised Guidance, SiRF Technology (SIRF) Lower on Warning

Accentia Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: ABPI) 75% LOWER; announced that its Phase 3 clinical trial evaluating the Company's exclusively-licensed technology from the Mayo Clinic consisting of an intranasal antifungal lavage, SinuNase (topical amphotericin B 0.01% suspension) achieved, as anticipated, superior resolution of the cardinal symptoms of chronic sinusitis (CS), as compared to placebo control arm, however, the analysis of the unblinded primary endpoint data did not show the required level of statistical significance when comparing the SinuNase arm to the control arm.
SiRF Technology Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: SIRF) 21% LOWER; sees first fiscal quarter revenue of $60M to $62M revenue, compared to the prior expected range of $71M to $77M.
MGIC Investment Corporation (NYSE: MTG) 11% LOWER; agreed to sell 37,333,333 shares of its common stock in a public offering at a price per share of $11.25, for gross proceeds of approximately $420 million. Shares of MTG closed at $13.30 yesterday.
Monsanto (NYSE: MON) 9% HIGHER; said it will well exceed its expectations for second-quarter results and to raised its full-year guidance for ongoing earnings per share (EPS) and free cash flow. The company now projects full-year ongoing EPS of $3.15 to $3.25, an increase versus the previous ongoing guidance of $2.70 to $2.80. The Wall Street consensus is $2.87. For the second-quarter, the company expects ongoing EPS in the range of $1.75. The Wall Street consensus is $1.35
Hoku Scientific, Inc. (NASDAQ: HOKU) 6.8% HIGHER; signed a definitive agreement with Paradise Beverages, Inc. to install a PV power system at its Oahu facility. Hoku Solar had previously completed the installation of two turnkey PV power systems for Paradise Beverages at its Kailua-Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii, and Lihue, Kauai, facilities
Casual Male (Nasdaq: CMRG) 6% LOWER; reports Q4 earnings of $0.03 per share, which may not compare to the consensus of $0.15. Revenues came in at $133.9 million, versus the consensus of $137.3 million. Sees FY09 EPS of $0.25-$0.30 versus the consensus of $0.28
3Coms (Nasdaq: COMS) 5% HIGHER; reports Q3 adj-EPS of $0.08, versus the consensus of $0.03. Revenues came in at $336.4 million, versus the consensus of $332.8 million. 3Com expects to report Q4 non-GAAP EPS in the range of $0.04-$0.07 and revenues in the range of $310-$315 million. The Street estimates are currently $0.02 and $322.51 million, respectively.
Valero Energy Corp. (NYSE: VLO) 4.5% LOWER; expects to report first quarter 2008 net income in the range of $0.10 to $0.35 per share, below the consensus of $0.91.

Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. (NYSE: PVH) 4% LOWER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.55, versus the consensus of $0.53. Revenues came in at $584.5 million, versus the consensus of $587.5 million.
Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. (NASDAQ: SIRI) 2.8% HIGHER; Continues today's 8.6% advance after the DOJ approved the merger with XM Satellite Radio Holdings.
