Pre-Open Movers 2/12: GMH Communities (GCT) Surges On Buyout Deal, Zoltek (ZOLT) Sinks On Results

GMH Communities Trust (NYSE: GCT) 61% HIGHER; entered into two definitive agreements in connection with the sale of the military and student housing divisions of GMH Communities Trust. The first agreement is a securities purchase agreement with a U.S. subsidiary of Balfour Beatty plc pursuant to which Balfour Beatty will purchase the Company's military housing division. The second agreement is a merger agreement with American Campus Communities, Inc. (NYSE: ACC), pursuant to which, following the closing of the Military Housing Transaction, the Company will be acquired by a subsidiary of ACC. The aggregate per share value of both the Military Housing Transaction and the Merger is expected to be approximately $9.61 per share/unit, based on the closing price of ACC's shares of common stock on February 11, 2008. The per share/unit value represents a premium of 72% to the closing price of the Company's common shares on February 11, 2008.

Dyax Corp. (NASDAQ: DYAX) 19% HIGHER; The company and sanofi-aventis (NYSE: SNY) entered into agreements in which sanofi-aventis has been granted an exclusive worldwide license for the development and commercialization of the fully human monoclonal antibody DX-2240, as well as a nonexclusive license to Dyax's proprietary antibody phage display technology. Dyax is eligible to receive up to $500 million in license fees and milestone payments and royalties.

Dycom Industries, Inc. (NYSE: DY) 19% LOWER; warned for Q2. Revenue for the second quarter is expected to be approximately $285 million, which is below the range of $290 million to $310 million. Dycom sees non-GAAP EPS of $0.03-0.04, which is $0.11 to $0.12 cents per share below the low end of the guidance provided in November 2007. The Wall Street consensus is $300.8 million and $0.20, respectively.

Zoltek (Nasdaq: ZOLT) 18% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.08, 16 cents lower than the analyst estimate of $0.24. Revenues for the quarter were $40.1 million, versus the consensus of $44.59 million.

Depomed, Inc. (NASDAQ: DEPO) 16% HIGHER; announced positive efficacy results from a Phase 2 double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-center trial evaluating Gabapentin GR for the treatment of women with moderate-to-severe menopausal hot flashes.

Aldila (NASDAQ: ALDA) 16% HIGHER; announced that its Board has declared a special cash dividend of $5.00 per share to be paid on March 10, 2008 to shareholders of record as of February 25, 2008.

Masco Corporation (NYSE: MAS) 13% LOWER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.19 from continuing operations vs. consensus of $0.28. Revenues were $2.7 billion vs. consensus of $2.7 billion.

Glu Mobile Inc. (Nasdaq: GLUU) 12% HIGHER; reports Q4 non-GAAP EPS of $0.06, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.07). Revenues for the quarter were $18.1 million, versus the consensus of $17.97 million.

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (Nasdaq: VRTX) 10% LOWER; reports a Q4 loss of $0.66, in-line with the analyst estimate of ($0.66). Revenues for the quarter were $51 million, versus the consensus of $66.72 million.

99 Cents Only Stores (NYSE: NDN) 8% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.14, 3 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.11. Revenues for the quarter were $324.6 million, versus the consensus of $328 million.

World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. (NYSE: WWE) 7.7% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.30, versus the consensus of $0.17. Revenues came in at $132.6 million, versus the consensus of $115 million.

Forward Air (Nasdaq: FWRD) 7% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.43, 5 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.38. Revenues for the quarter were $114.5 million, versus the consensus of $104.83 million.

Brooks Automation (Nasdaq: BRKS) 7.5% LOWER; reports a Q1 EPS of $0.01, 10 cents lower than the analyst estimate of $0.09. Revenues for the quarter were $147.8 million, versus the consensus of $160.22 million. Sees Q2 revs of $135 to $150 million, versus the consensus of $165.3 million. Sees Q2 EPS of ($0.10) to $0.00, versus the consensus of $0.14 gain.

American Science and Engineering (Nasdaq: ASEI) 6% LOWER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.55, 7 cents lower than the analyst estimate of $0.62. Revenues for the quarter were $42.6 million, versus the consensus of $43.67 million.

Ambac Financial (NYSE: ABK) 4.5% HIGHER; Warren Buffett said he sent an offer to the three largest bond insurers last week offering to re-insure their municipal bond portfolios. Buffett said they were turned down by one and the others have not leapt to sign deals.

Schering-Plough (NYSE: SGP) 4% HIGHER; reports Q4 earnings of $0.27 per share, ex-items, versus the consensus of $0.24. Revenues came in at $3.72 billion, versus the consensus of $3.1 billion.

Nuance Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: NUAN) 4% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.18, ex-items, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of $0.17. Revenues for the quarter were $195 million, versus the consensus of $199.96 million. Non-GAAP revenues for the quarter were $209.1 million.

GM (NYSE: GM) 2.6% LOWER; reports Q4 adj-profit of $0.08, which may not compare to the consensus of a $0.64 loss. Revenues came in at $46.69 billion, versus the consensus of $44.4 billion.

PNM Resources Inc (NYSE: PNM) 2.6% LOWER; Citi downgrades PNM Resources from Buy to Hold. Price target lowered from $23.50 to $16.50.

Precision Castparts Corp. (NYSE: PCP) 1.7% HIGHER; Goldman adds to its Conviction Buy list
