  • Bristol-Myers Squibb (NYSE: BMY) has launched the sale of its ConvaTec division, according to two sources. The Financial Times reported first round bids for the division should be received on January 28, according to the sources.

  • Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: TEVA) entered into a definitive agreement to acquire CoGenesys, Inc., a privately-held biopharmaceutical company with a broad based biotechnology platform and focused on the development of peptide- and protein-based medicines across broad therapeutic categories.

    Under terms of the agreement, Teva will pay a purchase price of $400 million cash, funded from its internal resources.

  • Roche and Ventana Medical Systems (Nasdaq: VMSI) signed a definitive merger agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, Roche will increase the purchase price in the tender offer for Ventana common shares to $89.50 per share in cash (or an aggregate of approximately $3.4 billion on a fully diluted basis), and Ventana's Board of Directors will recommend that Ventana's shareholders tender their shares to Roche.
