Notable Mergers and Acquisitions of the Day 10/05: BRCD, OPTV, OEH
- According to reports from the Wall Street Journal, Brocade Communications (Nasdaq: BRCD) has quietly put itself up for sale, citing people familiar with the matter.
Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) and Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq: ORCL) are two companies said to be interested in Brocade.
The report said no deal is imminent, and the company could decide not to complete a sale.
- The Kudelski Group commenced a tender offer to acquire all outstanding Class A shares of OpenTV Corp. (NASDAQ: OPTV) not owned by Kudelski or its subsidiaries for US$1.55 per share in cash.
The tender offer and withdrawal rights are scheduled to expire at 5:00 pm New York City time on Friday, November 6, 2009, unless extended.
- Orient-Express Hotels Ltd. (NYSE: OEH) confirmed that it has concluded the sale of its New Orleans property, the Windsor Court Hotel, to The Berger Company, Inc. for $44.25 million.
The deal comes at 15 times 2007 EBITDA, and over 50 times 2008 EBITDA.
