iShares Dow Jones US Home Construction ETF (NYSE: ITB) gained 1.15 percent to 19.90 as buyers stepped in following the recent dip. Shares of Toll Brothers (NYSE: TOL) and KB Home (NYSE: KBH) led the group with gains of more than 2 percent.
Decliners:
Energy Select Sector SPDR (NYSE: XLE) is lower by 1.45 percent to 73. The biggest drag on XLE was Chevron (NYSE: CVX), which declined 3.5 percent. Chevron said today its Q3 earning would be substantially lower compared to the second quarter, due to a combination of factors including FX headwinds and lower margin.
Market Vectors Semiconductor ETF (NYSE: SMH) lower by 0.9 to 30.75. Altera Corp. (Nasdaq: ALTR) led the decline, falling 1.9 percent intraday. This was the second day of declines for Altera and SMH, as macro concerns continue to weigh on semis.
