June 28, 2010 12:08 PM EDT
Gainers

  • Semiconductor HOLDRs (NYSE: SMH) up 1.47% to $27.57. Semis up today ahead of Micron's (NYSE: MU) third quarter earnings report, expected after the market closes today, and the Supreme Court overturning a portion of the Sarbanes-Oxley law which would create a public oversight board for corporate accounting practices, deeming it unconstitutional.

  • SPDRs (NYSE: SPY) up 0.32% to $108.21. Stocks fluctuating today as personal income and personal spending data results came in mixed, with income increasing slightly slower than the Street outlook and personal spending 0.1% above the consensus.

  • PowerShares DB US Dollar Index Bullish (NYSE: UUP) up 0.12% to $24.86. The U.S. dollar is solid today as the G-20 meeting over the weekend had many of the world powerhouses pledging to halve fiscal deficits by 2013 and firm-up debt-to-GDP ratios by 2016.

Receders

  • United States Natural Gas (NYSE: UNG) down 2.29% to $8.12. Traders may be taking profit today after last Friday's rally in nat gas prices stemming from expected warmer weather and tropical storm Alex forming in the Gulf of Mexico.

  • Market Vectors Coal ETF (NYSE: KOL) down2.06% to $32.34. Shares lower today as investors are awaiting a decision by the U.S. Export-Import Bank that might deny hundreds of millions in funding to a coal-fired Indian power plant and mine. Bucyrus International Inc. (Nasdaq: BUCY) is down 2.18% on the news, as the decision might cost them contracts and jobs.

  • Energy Select Sector SPDR (NYSE: XLE) down 0.74% to $52.10. Down as tropical storm Alex is showing that it might be less of a threat than previously thought.
