June 8, 2010 11:20 AM EDT
Gainers

  • Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE: GDX) up 2.43% to $51.43. Shares are up as gold prices are again touching new highs recently on currency fears. August delivery, the most actively traded, hit $1254.50/Troy ounce overnight, and is currently at $1248.50. Market Vectors Junior Gold Miners ETF (NYSE: GDXJ) is also a
winner today, up 3.07% to $27.89.

  • United States Oil (NYSE: USO) up 0.37% to $32.71. Oil is gaining a little today as the Euro strengthens, though some believe that the move may be more technical, and a significant increase may not occur even if stores show a decline in tomorrow's weekly report from the
EIA. CurrencyShares Euro Trust (NYSE: FXE) are also up 0.19% to $119.03.

Receders

  • United States Natural Gas (NYSE: UNG) down 3.33% to $8.12. Breaks a three-day slide, as forecasts call for cooler weather for the next week or so, according to EarthSat Energy Weather.

  • Oil Services HOLDRs (NYSE: OIH) down2.29% to $90.43. Led down today by Transocean (NYSE: RIG), which is down 8.6%, and Diamond Offshore (NYSE: DO), which is off about 5%. Both may be reacting to a downgrade out of Goldman Sachs for the Oil Services sector (more here), while Diamond Offshore has rumors floating around of a possible oil leak.
