Notable ETF Movers of the Day 05/26: XHB, USO, GDX Up; VXX, FXE Down (TOL)

SPDR S&P Homebuilders (NYSE: XHB) up 2.3% to $17.20. Couple good newsbits here. Toll Bros. (NYSE: TOL) reported a Q2 loss of $0.24, 1 cent below the analyst estimate of ($0.23). Revenue for the quarter was $311.3 million, which compares to the estimate of $321.94 million. The CEO also noted that May's tax credit may not have been determining factor in home sales, but an increase in consumer confidence. Additionally new home sales for April were 504,000, compared to the Street estimate of 425,000, and 439,000 reported for March.
United States Oil (NYSE: USO) up 2.35% to $32.60. Crude stores came in today at well above expectations, increasing 2.5 million barrels, versus the analyst expectations of a 100,000 barrel increase. Futures fluttered for a minute, but continued upward as prices on crude are down about 20% for the month on European concerns. July 10 contracts are up 2.42 to $71.17 per barrel, a 3.5% increase over yesterday's closing price.
Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE: GDX) up 2.41% to $50.12. Gold June contracts are up $17.10 to $1215.10/Troy ounce today, as tensions in Korea heighten and concerns of European stability linger.

iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures ETN (NYSE: VXX) down 7.3% to $29.35. Shares of the ETF are lower today after a massive early selloff yesterday, with a nice recovery by the end of the day, which saw many stocks close marginally lower, and the S&P 500 ending up in the green forthe day. The CBOE VIX is down 14.48% to $29.60 today.
CurrencyShares Euro Trust (NYSE: FXE) down0.94% to $121.82. As the Euro weakens, so does the ETF. The Euro looks to have hit an intraday low of $1.2205, where it is currently trading. Reason? Uncertainty over stabilization in Europe, as the $1 trillion bailout annouced a few weeks ago may not be enough.
