Notable ETF Movers 12/15: TAN, OIH, UNG, USO Up; XLF, GLD Down

HIGHER;
- Claymore/MAC Global Solar Energy (NYSE: TAN) up 2.2% to $10.22. Many in the sector are positive today. Yingli Green Energy (NYSE: YGE) up on milestone achievements. JA Solar (NASDAQ: JASO) up about 10% on positive outlook. In addition, First Solar (Nasdaq: FSLR) will provide its '10 guidance in a web-cast tomorrow.
- Oil Services HOLDRs (NYSE: OIH) up 1.73% to $117.76. Oil and energy company's are still seeing a boon from the large purchase of XTO (NYSE: XTO) by ExxonMobil (NYSE: XOM) for $31 billion yesterday.
- United States Natural Gas (NYSE: UNG) up 2.75% to $10.10. Natural gas futures are benefiting from colder weather in key areas of the United States as well as from the aforementioned XTO/XOM deal. Weather is expecting to be colder than normal throughout the Eastern U.S. for the next three weeks, sparking greater demand for natural gas for heating.
LOWER:
- Financial Select Sector SPDR (NYSE: XLF) down 0.93% to $14.335. Though many have paid back their share of the government TARP funds, the Fed is having a meeting on interest and other initiatives.
- SPDR Gold Shares (NYSE: GLD) down 0.41% to $109.79. Investors are gaining confidence in the dollar upon the Fed's meeting on interest rates and other initiatives. The dollar is also approaching a three-month high versus the Euro, currently trading at 1.45, from a 1.4652 close yesterday.
