Notable Analyst Rating Changes of the Day:

UPGRADES
Visa, Inc. (NYSE: V) upgraded by several firms:
  • Barclays to Overweight from Equalweight, price target increased to $97 from $91;

  • Raymond James upgrades from Outperform to Strong Buy; and

  • Duncan-Williams upgrades from Buy to Strong Buy with a price target increased from $100 to $105. Click Here for more color.
Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ: AKAM) upgraded by two majors:
  • Goldman Sachs from Sell to Neutral with a price target raised to $27.50 from $21.50. Click Here for more color; and

  • Raymond James upgrades from Market Perform to Outperform.
J. P. Morgan upgrades US Airways (NYSE: LCC) from Neutral to Overweight, target raised from $6.50 to $9.

Broadcom (NASDAQ: BRCM) upgraded by two firms:

Western Union (NYSE: WU) downed by two firms:
  • Goldman Sachs downgrades Western Union (NYSE: WU) from Buy to Neutral, saying firmwide growth fails to reignite in 2010. The firm lowered their price target from $23 to $19; and

  • Bank of America downgrades from Buy to Neutral with a price target lowered $24 to $20.
Credit Suisse downgrades Verizon (NYSE: VZ) from Outperform to Neutral.

Deutsche Bank downgrades Monster Worldwide (NYSE: MWW) from Hold to Sell.

Needham & Company downgrades Aviat Networks (NASDAQ: AVNW) from Buy to Hold.

Exane BNP Paribas downgrades Royal Bank of Scotland (NYSE: RBS) from Outperform to Neutral.

Merrill Lynch has downgraded Education Management (NASDAQ: EDMC) from Buy to Underperform. Target cut from $26 to $20.
