52-Week High:
- IMAX Corporation (Nasdaq: IMAX) high of $32.30. Higher today on speculation that the company was in talks with Sony (NYSE: SNE) to be taken over at $40 per share, which IMAX has since denied.
- Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: APC) high of $78.98. Riding a takeover rumor, but take note that the rumor was started from the same source - Daily Mail.
- Flotek Industries Inc. (NYSE: FTK) high of $5.50. Flotek has been trading strong this week. Look at it from a year-to-date chart, the stock saw some stronger buying above the $2.00 - $2.10 level in early November, which has continued through the end of the year. From a 20-day perspective, shares broke through the $4.60 resistance level. After a strong move on Wednesday, through the $4.40 level, shares surged 25% to their new 52-week high today.
- Universal American Corp (NYSE: UAM) high of $20.55. Jumping today following an announcement that they have sold their Medicare Part D business to CVS Caremark (NYSE: CVS) for $1.25 billion. Shares popped over 40% on the news.
- AP Pharma Inc. (Nasdaq: APPA) low of $0.43. More of a momentum mover here, but has seen activity around the $0.47 price level. Looking at the stock from a year-to-date perspective, we see that the shares have been in a downward trend for most of the year, following a big selling in mid-March.
