Notable 52-Week Highs and Lows of the Day 09/14: (STI) (KEY) (OMX) High; (PULS) (PURE) Low

This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • SunTrust (NYSE: STI) high of $30.79. SunTrust, along with most other financials, has been on the rise late this week following new FOMC stimulus measures. The said it will continue Operation Twist as well as purchase additional agency mortgage-backed securities at a pace of $40 billion per month.

    Shares were up about 12 percent since the close last Friday.

  • KeyCorp (NYSE: KEY) high of $9.08. KeyCorp moving along with SunTrust today. Shares popped 2.6 percent Friday, rising 5.5 percent over the last week.

  • OfficeMax Inc. (NYSE: OMX) high of $8.04. OfficeMax popping following confirmation late Thursday that its agreement to extinguish the non-recourse liability related to the Lehman-backed timber notes is now effective as the result of the entry of a Final Order by the United States Bankruptcy Court resolving certain claims against Lehman Brothers based on the notes.

  • HollyFrontier (NYSE: HFC) high of $42.00. HollyFrontier getting a boost as Well Fargo upgraded the energy company from Market Perform to Outperform earlier. For more, click here.
52-Week Low:
  • Pulse Electronics Corp. (NYSE: PULS) low of $0.85. Not much to say here, Pulse now comfortably below the $1 threshold. Shares has closed lower 20 of the last 26 sessions, since its quarterly report on August 7th.

  • PURE Bioscience, Inc. (Nasdaq: PURE) low of $1.07. PURE Bioscience announced a 3,784,000 common offering earlier in the week. Today, the Company said underwriters exercised their full over-allotment option.
