This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • Yamana Gold, Inc. (NYSE: AUY) high of $15.90. As gold continues to increase, gold companies are continuing to benefit. Gold is up $29.7 to $1851.7 per ounce on the Comex according to where December contracts are trading at. Yamana is up 43.2 percent from a recent low of $11.10 reported intraday on June 16th.

  • New Gold, Inc. (NYSE: NGD) high of $13.00. New Gold is another gold mover today. New Gold's move is a little more sharp than Yamana's, the shares previously have stuck around the $10 to $11 level. The stock is up 39 percent from $9.33 on August 5th.

  • AuRico Gold Inc. (NYSE: AUQ) high of $13.70. See New Gold above. AuRico is up 54 percent from $8.89 hit on June 8th.
52-Week Low:
  • Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HPQ) low of $22.75. Hewlett-Packard moving on several news bits, including M&A and earnings. Click here to read analyst changes and further color on the news. Shares dropped 23 percent on the session today to the new low.

  • Autodesk, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADSK) low of $23.51. Autodesk reported second-quarter earnings of 44 cents per share on revenue of $546.3 million, both beating views. It's third-quarter outlook also came in line with views.

  • Micron Technology Inc. (NYSE: MU) low of $5.42. Micron has been on a bit of a slide since the end of April, and experienced sharper selling at the beginning of August. The stock is mimicking overall weakness in the markets, though it's outpacing the tech sector, down 54 percent since April 27th, compared with just about 25 percent for Semiconductor HOLDRs (NYSE: SMH) over the same period.

  • Aeropostale, Inc. (NYSE: ARO) low of $10.35. Aeropostale reported a second-quarter loss of 2 cents per share on revenue of $468.2 million, mixed to the Street's views. Looking ahead, the retailer sees third-quarter earnings of 9 to 15 cents per share, shy of the 29 cents expected.
