This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • New Gold, Inc. (NYSE: NGD) high of $12.60. New Gold is seeing a new high as gold continues to hover above $1800 per ounce. December contracts are $29.3 better to $1823.4 per ounce on the Comex.

  • Yamana Gold, Inc. (NYSE: AUY) high of $15.82. Yamana got to a new high early, but ended up ceding some the gains later in the session even as gold is looking strong today.
52-Week Low:
  • Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HPQ) low of $28.77. Hewlett-Packard hitting a new 52-week low ahead of its quarter earnings report tonight. Shares dipped 8.3 percent before surging on news that HP is divesting its PC business and may be in talks to acquire Autonomy.

  • NetApp, Inc. (Nasdaq: NTAP) low of $33.32. NetApp is lower after earnings. The company reported first-quarter EPS of 55 cents on revenue of $1.46 billion, versus Street views calling for EPS of 55 cents and revs of $1.51 billion. NetApp sees second-quarter EPS of 58 to 62 cents and revenue of $1.50 to $1.60 billion, versus consensus EPS of 60 cents and revs of $1.62 billion.

  • Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. (Nasdaq: CTSH) low of $54.49. Cognizant acquired CoreLogic Global Services Private Ltd. from CoreLogic (Nasdaq: CLGX) for $50 million.

  • General Motors Company (NYSE: GM) low of $23.30. General Motors lower as Goldman Sachs cut its price target from $40 to $38, and lowered other estimates as well. GM is down 5.4 percent on the session.
