This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALNY) high of $18.89. Alnylam ripping higher after reporting positive clinical results from its Phase I trial with ALN-TTR02, an RNAi therapeutic targeting the transthyretin (TTR) gene for the treatment of TTR-mediated amyloidosis (ATTR).     Alnylam shares moved 51 percent higher on the news today.

  • AuthenTec, Inc. (Nasdaq: AUTH) high of $5.19. AuthenTec popped higher after announcing it inked a deal with Samsung. According to the release, Samsung has chosen its QuickSec VPN security for use in new Android smartphone and tablet models.

  • Visa, Inc. (NYSE: V) high of $131.00. Visa and MasterCard (NYSE: MA) moving higher after entering a $7.25 billion settlement with US retailers. Shares rose 5.5 percent Monday.

  • Orexigen Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: OREX) high of $7.65. Orexigen saw an incredible amount of positive sentiment today heading into peer VIVUS' (Nasdaq: VVUS) PDUFA date for its obesity drug Qnexa. Orexigen closing higher would put it on a four-session win-streak and higher seven of the last nine sessions.
52-Week Low:
  • Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. (NYSE: ANR) low of $6.56. Alpha Natural slammed 14 percent on the session after BMO Capital cut its rating on the stock from Market Perform down to Underperform.

    Shares have been pressured over the last year on weaker coal demand expectations.

  • Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. (Nasdaq: GMCR) low of $. Green Mountain continuing lower today following an analyst note last Friday highlighting increased competition in the single-serve coffee segment and lagging demand in several key segments.

    Green Mountain moved an additional 9 percent lower on today's session.

  • Gardner Denver Inc. (NYSE: GDI) low of $45.54. Investors hit the exits on Gardner Denver following the resignation of CEO Pennypacker. Shares dropped nearly 14 percent on the session.

  • Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE: HPQ) low of $18.76. Sentiment of a slowing global PC sector is riding high, sending Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) shares lower as traders and investors work to price in possible numbers. HP shares are current at their lowest point since mid-2005. according to market data.
