52-Week High:
  • Rite Aid (NYSE: RAD) $7.90. Rite Aid rising after the company reported a 5 percent gain in April comps. April front-end same store sales increased 4.7 percent, with 4.6 percent of the increase attributable to a shift in the timing of Easter, which fell on April 20 this year compared to March 31 last year. Pharmacy same store sales, which included an approximate 138 basis points negative impact from new generic introductions, increased 5.2 percent. Prescription count at comparable stores increased 2.3 percent over the prior-year period.

  • Meritor (NYSE: MTOR) $13.75. Meritor popping today after the company reported Q2 EPS of $.22 and revs of $962 million, while the Street was looking for EPS of $.09 and revs of $920.2 million. The company boosted the top- and bottom-end of its EPS estimate, now expecting FY14 profit of $.50 to $.60 per share.

  • Merrimack Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: MACK) $7.65. Merrimack is ripping today after the company announced that the combination of MM-398 with 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and leucovorin achieved an overall survival of 6.1 months, a 1.9 month improvement over the 4.2 month survival demonstrated by the control arm of 5-FU and leucovorin alone. The NAPOLI-1 Phase 3 study was conducted in patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer who previously received gemcitabine-based therapy. The primary log-rank analysis of overall survival was statistically significant (p=0.012) with a corresponding hazard ratio of 0.67. A statistically significant advantage for progression free survival was also observed in the combination arm.

  • CBRE Group (NYSE: CBG) $29.33. CBRE up today after the company reported Q1 EPS of $0.25 and revs of $1.9 billion, versus consensus views looking for EPS of $.17 and revs of $1.71 billion.

52-Week Low:
  • JDS Uniphase Corp (Nasdaq: JDSU) $10.53. JDS Uniphase hit today after it posted a 1 cent Q3 EPS miss. The company said it sees Q414 EPS of $0.10 - $0.14, versus the consensus of $0.17. JDS also expects Q4 revenue of $425 - $445 million, versus the consensus of $459.04 million.

  • Avon Products, Inc. (NYSE: AVP) $13.22. Avon Products reported Q1 EPS of $0.12, which may not compare to the analyst estimate of $0.21. Revenue for the quarter came in at $2.2 billion versus the consensus estimate of $2.2 billion.

  • General Cable Corp. (NYSE: BGC) $22.79. General Cable posted a narrower-than-expected Q1 loss of $.05 per share, though revs of $1.43 billion came up short.

  • Emulex Corp. (NYSE: ELX) $4.96. Emulex reported in-line Q3 EPS of $.15. The company said it expects Q4 revs of $94 to $100 million with adjusted EPS of breakeven to $.05. The Street was looking for Q4 revs of $116.4 million and EPS of $.19.
