52-Week High:
- Identive Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: INVE) high of $5.90. Identive has basically exploded out of the gate, and kept going all day. Shares moved over 120 percent better to the new high today, the highest level that shares have attained since mid-2004. Identive's business unit, ACiG Technology, has been selected as the exclusive supplier of near field communication RFID stickers for the roll out of Google's (Nasdaq: GOOG) marketing campaign for Google Places in Austin, Texas.
- Tyco International Inc. (NYSE: TYC) high of $51.13. Blasting off in the afternoon following rumors that Tyco is receiving takeover interest from France's Schneider Electric. Firn's also seemed bullish on the news. Shares up 4.9 percent today. Tyco may see a little more action, as the mid-$51-to$52 price level is acting as a bit of a resistance point over the last six-years.
- Gildan Activewear Inc. (NYSE: GIL) high of 34.02. After the market closed yesterday, Gildan announced that it would be acquiring Gold Toe Moretz Holdings in a $350 million deal. Notably, acquirers usually see downside the next day, depending on whether or not the deal is a good one. In this case, investors appear to be cheering on the deal, with Gildan taking out one of its rivals.
- Tibco Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: TIBX) high of $29.85. Reports today that Tibco drew interest from Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) a few weeks ago, though talks have since "fizzled out" since then. Tibco may be another takeover target by an equally large company moving forward.
- WMS Industries Inc. (NYSE: WMS) low of $29.71. WMS trading lower after offering preliminary third-quarter results. WMS expects sales of $191 - $193 million and EPS of $0.40 - $0.42. WMS had previously expected to report third-quarter sales of $209 - $215 million. The Street is currently looking for third-quarter EPS of $0.51 on sales of $212.62 million. WMS also sees fourth-quarter sales of $210 - $220 million, which compares to the Street estimate of $234.1 million. Looking at 2012, WMS sees sales of $810 - $850 million, compared with the consensus of $935.10 million.
- Gulf Resources (Nasdaq: GFRE) low of $4.36. Gulf Resources is lower today as crude prices are expected to fall further than today's decline, as tensions in North Africa and the Middle East begin to taper a little. Gulf Resources has been on an ever-increasing downward trend since the start of 2011, only recently breaking below the $5.50 support level.
- Sulphco Inc. (AMEX: SUF) low of $0.1180. Another speculative play on the crude pullback.
