This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU) high of $5.44. Moving over 3.6% higher today as speculation surrounds a possible takeover bid from a Chinese company. Huawei Technologies, one of China's largest makers of telephone network equipment, has since denied the rumor, though there are several other large companies that may have the gumption to make a run at it.

  • Hercules Offshore, Inc. (Nasdaq: HERO) high of $5.89. Having moved 58% since mid-February, Hercules is setting another 52-week high today. In mid-February, Hercules made a bid to acquire Gulf assets from Seahawk Drilling, Inc. (Nasdaq: HAWK), amounting to $25 million for 20 jackup rigs. The stock hasn't stopped rocking since.

  • News Corp. (Nasdaq: NWSA) high of $18.11. Reports in the Financial Times yesterday have News Corp. spinning off the news operations of British Sky Broadcasting as early as today.
  • Superconductor Technologies Inc. (SCON) high of $4.19. Moving over 42% higher today, on stronger volume, as traders look to be buying above the $3.30 following a massive 175K block trade earlier in the day.

52-Week Low:
  • LECG Corporation (Nasdaq: XPRT) low of $0.126. Whitney Tilson's T2 Partners LLC dropped their stake in the company from over 2 million shares to about 40,000 shares.

  • Fuel Systems Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: FSYS) low of $23.60. The company reported Q4 EPS of $0.02, eight cents worse than the analyst estimate of $0.10. Revenue for the quarter came in at $83.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $79.98 million. FSYS sees FY11 revenue of $375 - $400 million, versus the consensus of $402.28 million. Shares fell over 15% to the new low today.

  • Nektar Therapeutics (Nasdaq: NKTR) low of . Down over 9.3% the last two days following their fourth quarter 2010 earnings report late Tuesday.
