52-Week High:
- NiSource Inc. (NYSE: NI) high of $24.53. NiSource caught some bids and broke well above the $23.50 resistance level. News related to NiSource potentially turning down a $28.50 takeover offer, according to SparkSpread. The suitor was reported to be a Canadian company, though specific names weren't mentioned.
- Openwave Systems (Nasdaq: OPWV) high of $2.67. Openwave moved to a new high as it was said that Acacia (Nasdaq: ACTG) Acacia (Nasdaq: ACTG) could be courting Openwave. Click here to see the full report. Shares moved 16.6 percent on the report.
- Home Depot, Inc. (NYSE: HD) high of $46.61. Home Depot showing some upside ahead of its quarterly earnings report, expected out before the market opens Tuesday. Shares moved 1.5 percent higher Friday to the new mark. In addition, strong building permit and housing starts numbers Thursday provided a little extra juice to the "builder-sphere."
- Intel Corp. (Nasdaq: INTC) high of $27.52. Intel could be seeing a little momentum from two sources (at least). First, it's a rumored suitor to Fusion-io (NYSE: FIO) which would give it some extra oomph in the enterprise SSD memory management market. In addition, peer Applied Materials (Nasdaq: AMAT) reported strong quarterly numbers after the market closed Thursday. Shares of AppMat are actually down on the session, after starting in positive territory.
- Alexza Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALXA) low of $0.4613. Alexza priced a 44 million unit offering at 50 cents each. The company said that the common stock and warrants will be issued separately, but will be sold in combination in the offering, with a warrant to purchase one share of common stock for each share of common stock sold.
- Superconductor Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: SCON) low of $0.90. SuperCon earlier said it entered into agreements with certain institutional investors for a registered direct placement of approximately $4.6 million of common stock at a price of $1.05 per share. That was a 16 percent discount to yesterday's closing at $1.25.
- ArthroCare Corp. (Nasdaq: ARTC) low of $23.54. After the market closed Thursday, ArthroCare reported a fourth-quarter loss of $1.06 per share, versus the analyst estimate of $0.20. Revenue for the quarter came in at $92.4 million versus the consensus estimate of $97.47 million. In addition, the company disclosed it received a civil investigation demand from the Department of Justice on February 8th. The probe is related to the False Claims Act.
