This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:

  • Crown Castle International Corp. (NYSE: CCI) high of $49.46. Crown Castle breaking hard above the $47 price level to a new all-time high. Shares have bumped above the level for some time over the past 5 years. Crown reported in-line earnings this week, but reports from major U.S. carriers might signal increased demand for towers moving forward as smartphone sales continue to pick up.

  • Delphi Automotive PLC (NYSE: DLPH) high of $27.36. Thursday night, Delphi reported fourth-quarter earnings of 88 cents and revs of $3.9 billion, both topping views. Looking ahead, the Company sees first-quarter EPS of 83 cents to 96 cents and revs of $4.0 billion to $4.1 billion, versus views calling for EPS of 91 cents and revs of $4.05 billion.

For 2012, Delphi expects earnings of $3.44 to 3.69 per share and revs of $16.2 billion to $16.5 billion, versus EPS of $3.46 and revs of $16.45 billion viewed on the Street.
52-Week Low:
  • Inergy, L.P. (NYSE: NRGY) low of $17.52. Lower following reports it might be evaluating its business amid concerns with cash flow.

  • Frontier Communications Corporation (NYSE: FTR) low of $3.81. Frontier actually saw some rapid selling early on the session, dropping as much as 14.8 percent, but shares have been seeing some downside for a while now following quarterly reports from major U.S. carriers. Wireline revs across the board have shrunk, and investors will be looking for updates when the company reports fourth-quarter earnings sometime in early February (third-quarter results were reported on November 3, 2011).

  • GMX Resources Inc. (Nasdaq: GMXR) low of $0.91. GMX has been seeing pressure since filing a nearly 4 million common stock shelf on Wednesday. The Company issued a release today that it filed two registration statements on January 25, 2012 in accordance with registration rights agreements made in connection with its issuance of Senior Secured Notes due 2017.

The registration statement on Form S-4 relates to an exchange offer of registered Senior Secured Notes due 2017 for its unregistered Senior Secured Notes due 2017.

The registration statement on Form S-3 was filed on behalf of certain stockholders who received 3,877,254 shares of the company's common stock as consideration for their backstop of $100.0 million of new Senior Secured Notes due 2017 offered for cash.
