This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
- Hawaiian Electric Industries Inc. (NYSE: HE) high of $26.40. Word is that the stock is jumping on a potential takeover at $24.54 per share by a special company formed for the purpose, Kuokoa Inc.
- Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) high of $18.42. Not a massive move by Ford today, but the manufacturer said that their sales in China were up 405 in 2010, to 582,467 units, with December sales 52% higher to 56,880 units.
- Atmel Corporation (Nasdaq: ATML) high of $13.90. Jumping over 6% higher today as Wedbush started coverage on the company with an Outperform rating an $18.50 price target. With shares closing at $13.08 yesterday, the price target suggests 41% upside.
- Las Vegas Sands Corp. (NYSE: LVS) high of $49.92. Over 4.5% better today as Las Vegas Sands is meeting with Florida Governor Rick Scott about bringing casinos to the Sunshine State.
- Allied Irish Banks plc (NYSE: AIB) low of $0.75. Ireland's banks may need to sell noncore assets to a government agency as their central bank looks to shrnk the size of the country's banking system. The Bank of Ireland (NYSE: IRE) is also hitting a 52-week low today of $2.35.
- Savient Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: SVNT) low of $10.22. Dropped as much as 6.8% to the new low today following an update on KRYSTEXXA. Notably, the company is delaying their MAA submission to the EU until the end of Q111.

IRE is NOT hitting a 52 week low...

IRE is nowhere near a 52 week low. It should be much lower, but it's 52 week low is $1.38...so it's literally $1 away from it's 52 week low. I'm sure it's going to continue down, but whoever wrote this I hope isn't getting paid for such a rather embarrassing error.
