NCI Building Systems, Inc. (NYSE: NCS) 23.8% HIGHER; today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement with Clayton, Dubilier & Rice Fund VIII, L.P., a fund managed by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, Inc., under which the CD&R Fund will invest $250 million in the Company through the purchase of newly issued Convertible Participating Preferred Shares. LJ International Inc. (NASDAQ: JADE) 22.4% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.01, compared to ($0.01) in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $22.4 million, versus $31.1 million in Q208.
Blockbuster Inc. (NYSE: BBI) 16.3% LOWER; reports Q2 loss of $0.19, 7 cents lower than the analyst estimate of ($0.12). Revenue for the quarter was $1.02 billion, versus the consensus of $1.12 billion. Lowers its FY09 EBITDA guidance from $305-$325 million to $270-$290 million.
Penford Corporation (Nasdaq: PENX) 15.3% HIGHER; announced today that Penford Australia Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary, has entered into a contract to sell 100% of the shares of Penford New Zealand Limited to a New Zealand private investment company. The sale, which is subject to certain conditions, is scheduled to be completed in early September.

Lifeway Foods, Inc., (Nasdaq: LWAY) 11.8% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.15, 8 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.07. Revenue for the quarter was $14.48 million, versus the consensus of $14.56 million.
