EMCORE Corporation (Nasdaq: EMKR) 29.3% HIGHER; is seeing interst this morning announced that it has been awarded a contract to manufacture, test, and deliver solar panels for NASA's Global Precipitation Measurement spacecraft. The contract, valued at approximately $5 million, will be managed by MEI Technologies, Inc. for the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
La-Z-Boy Inc. (NYSE: LZB) 28.6% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.07, ex-items, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.11) and compared to a loss of $0.05 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $284.5 million, versus the consensus of $297.38 million.
Synergetics USA, Inc. (NASDAQ: SURG) 18.2% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.02, compared to $0.05 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $13.2 million, versus $13.5 million in Q308.
Ashford Hospitality Trust (NYSE: AHT) 16.4% LOWER; Baird downgrades the stock from Neutral to Underperform. Price target $2.
FuelCell Energy, Inc. (Nasdaq: FCEL) 15% LOWER; announced today that it entered into definitive agreements to sell 6.7 million shares of its common stock at $3.59 per share in a registered direct offering. The transaction is expected to close on June 19, 2009, subject to customary closing conditions.
Hovnanian Enterprises (NYSE: HOV) 12.5% HIGHER; the homebuilding sector is performing well this morning following better than expected May Housing Starts data: 532,000, which compares to the Street consensus of 485,000. Also building permits came in at 518,000, which compares to the consensus of 508,000.
Alvarion Ltd. (Nasdaq: ALVR) 12.4% HIGHER; jumping on overseas trading on reports the company won a contract worth up to $100 million. The reports came from the Calcalilst newspaper.
MDRNA, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRNA) 11.7% HIGHER; announced that it has repaid all of its remaining debt to General Electric (NYSE: GE) Capital Corporation under the January 2009 Loan and Security Agreement. Click here for the full report.
