eFuture Information Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: EFUT) 22.1% HIGHER; reports Q1 non-GAAP EPS of $0.89. Revenue for the quarter was $10.5 million.

PAREXEL (Nasdaq: PRXL) 21.9% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.25, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of $0.24. Revenue for the quarter was $311 million, versus the consensus of $276.62 million. Sees Q4 EPS of $0.26-$0.28, versus the Street estimate of $0.25. Raises its FY09 EPS guidance from $0.94-$0.98 to $0.97-$0.99, versus the consensus of $0.95.

BioCryst (Nasdaq: BCRX) 21.9% HIGHER; swine flu momentum continuing.

Novavax (Nasdaq: NVAX) 18% HIGHER; swine flu momentum continuing.

Seaspan Corporation (NYSE: SSW) 17.6% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.25, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of $0.24. Revenue for the quarter was $63.1 million, versus the consensus of $63.37 million. Decided to temporarily reduce its quarterly dividend from $0.475 to $0.10.

American Ecology Corp. (Nasdaq: ECOL) 14.5% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.20, 5 cents below the analyst estimate of $0.25. Revenue for the quarter was $35 million, versus the consensus of $40.4 million. American Ecology sees FY EPS of $0.85-$1.00, below the prior guidance of $1.14-$1.22 and the consensus of $1.09.

Mindspeed Technologies (Nasdaq: MSPD) 14.3% HIGHER; reports Q2 loss of $0.24, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.26). Revenue for the quarter was $28.5 million, versus the consensus of $28 million. Sees Q3 revs of $30-$32 million, versus the consensus of $27.5 million.

AVI BioPharma, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVII) 13.1% HIGHER; today announced issuance of the second of two key U.S. patents covering the Company's candidate drug for the treatment of Ebola Zaire infection. The patents titled "Antisense Antiviral Compounds and Methods for Treating a Filovirus Infection" (U.S. Patent Nos. 7,524,829 and 7,507,196), cover composition and methods to target the Ebola virus VP35 protein with a range of PMOplus(TM) compounds. The patents have an expiration date of Oct. 31, 2025.

Spartan Motors (Nasdaq: SPAR) 12.1% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.19, 12 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.07. Revenue for the quarter was $115.5 million, versus the consensus of $99.05 million.

Delphi Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: DFG) 11.8% LOWER; today announced a registered underwritten public offering of 3,000,000 shares of its Class A common stock. Delphi will grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to 450,000 additional shares of Class A common stock from Delphi. Net proceeds from the offering are expected to be used for general corporate purposes.

Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) 9.9% LOWER; reports Q1 loss of $0.07, 5 cents worse than the analyst estimate of ($0.02). Revenue for the quarter was $1.1 billion, versus the consensus of $1.18 billion.

Aaron Rents, Inc. (NYSE: AAN) 9.8% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.58, 6 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.52. Revenue for the quarter was $474 million, versus the consensus of $458.17 million. Aaron Rents sees Q2 EPS 45c to 55c versus $0.46. Sees FY09 $1.90 to $2.05 versus consensus $1.82.

Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSII) 9.8% LOWER; reports Q1 loss of $0.68, ex-items, versus the analyst estimate of $0.04. Revenue for the quarter was $89.1 million, versus the consensus of $108 million.

Avery Dennison Corporation (NYSE: AVY) 8.3% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.11, ex-items, 11 cents lower than the analyst estimate of $0.22. Revenue for the quarter was $1.426 billion, versus the consensus of $1.42 billion.

Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. (NYSE: JEC) 8.2% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.88, 1 cent below the analyst estimate of $0.89. Revenue for the quarter was $2.98 billion, versus the consensus of $3.13 billion. Jacobs Engineering cuts forecast, now sees FY EPS of $3.10-$3.50, versus the consensus of $3.59.

Scotts Miracle-Gro (NYSE: SMG) 7.3% LOWER; reports Q2 earnings of $1.25 per share, ex-items, above the consensus of $1.24. Revenues came in at $960.1 million, versus the consensus of $1.01 billion. Scotts Miracle-Gro sees FY09 EPS of $2.20-$2.30, ex-items, versus the consensus of $2.37.

U.S. Steel (NYSE: X) 7.2% LOWER; reports Q1 loss of $3.78, versus the analyst estimate of ($1.69). Revenue for the quarter was $2.75 billion, versus the consensus of $3.14 billion.
