Morning Movers 2/6: Financials Up On Bailout Hopes; Sketchers USA (SKX) Sinks On Lower Guidance

Skyworks (Nasdaq: SWKS) 28% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.17, ex-items, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.15. Revenue for the quarter was $210.2 million, versus the consensus of $211.16 million. Sees Q2 EPS of $0.10-$0.11, versus the consensus of $0.10 and sales down 20% sequentially.


Sketchers USA (NYSE: SKX) 22.5% LOWER; sees Q4 sales of $290-$300 million and a loss of $0.45-$0.50. The Street is currently expecting Q4 sales of $305.20 million and EPS of $0.15.

Hartford Financial Services (NYSE: HIG) 22% LOWER; reports Q4 loss of $2.71, cents better than the analyst estimate of $1.30. Intends to reduce quarterly dividend to $0.05.

Powerwave Technologies (Nasdaq: PWAV) 16.7% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.01, 5 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.04). Revenue for the quarter was $180.3 million, versus the consensus of $187.38 million.


Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) 15% HIGHER; Financials rally from recent weakness ahead of Obama admin financial bailout plan on Monday.


Evergreen Solar, Inc. (Nasdaq: ESLR) 13% LOWER; reports Q4 loss of $0.32, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.14). Revenue for the quarter was $44.2 million, versus the consensus of $46.67 million. 

Synchronoss Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: SNCR) 12.4% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.12, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.10. Revenue for the quarter was $31.2 million, versus the consensus of $30.51 million.

Dick's (NYSE: DKS) 12.3% HIGHER; sees a non-cash impairment charge, reports Q4 same store sales. Click here for the full report.

Healthways (Nasdaq: HWAY) 11.9% LOWER; sees Q1 EPS 24c to 28c. Sees FY09 EPS $0.90 to $1.04 per share. Healthways sees FY09 revenues $652M to $680M annual revenues.

TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: TSYS) 11% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.09 may not compare to the analyst estimate of $0.11. Revenue for the quarter was $79.3 million, versus the consensus of $61.91 million.

Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) 10% HIGHER; Financials rally from recent weakness ahead of Obama admin financial bailout plan on Monday.

Apollo Investment Corporation (Nasdaq: AINV) 9% LOWER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.37, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of $0.36. Revenue for the quarter was $97.5 million, versus the consensus of $96.25 million. Cut its quarterly dividend to $0.26.

Beacon Roofing Supply Inc. (Nasdaq: BECN) 9% HIGHER; Net sales of $463 million, up 16%. Record first quarter sales and income. EPS of $0.41, up 242%.


Multi Fineline (Nasdaq: MFLX) 9% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.56, 5 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.51. Revenue for the quarter was $216.6 million, versus the consensus of $215.31 million. Sees Q2 sales of $170-$190 million, versus the consensus of $200.6 million.

Bankrate, Inc. (Nasdaq: RATE) 8% LOWER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.33, 1 cent worse than the analyst estimate of $0.34. Revenue for the quarter was $40.2 million, versus the consensus of $42.02 million. Won't issue guidance.

Citigroup, Inc. (NYSE: C) 7% HIGHER; Financials rally from recent weakness ahead of Obama admin financial bailout plan on Monday.

Apartment Investment & Management Co. (NYSE: AIV) 6.5% LOWER; reports Q4 FFO of $0.56 per share, above the consensus of $0.49. Sees Q1 FFO of $0.30-$0.36, ex-items, below the consensus of $0.61. Sees FY09 FFO of $1.65-$1.95, ex-items, below the consensus of $2.45.

Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) 6.5% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.77, 3 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.74. Revenue for the quarter was $1.6 billion, versus the consensus of $1.61 billion. Sees FY09 EPS of $2.55-$2.75, versus the consensus of $2.83.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) 6% HIGHER; Financials rally from recent weakness ahead of Obama admin financial bailout plan on Monday.

Net 1 Ueps Technologies (Nasdaq: UEPS) 5% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.49, 3 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.46. Revenue for the quarter was $61.4 million, versus the consensus of $79.17 million.

Elan Corp. plc (NYSE: ELN) 4% LOWER; Weak results for drug Tysabri reported by partner Biogen.


JDSU (Nasdaq: JDSU) 3% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.11, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of $0.10. Revenue for the quarter was $357 million, versus the consensus of $371.57 million. Sees Q3 revenues 275M to 300M versus $358 million.
