Affymax (Nasdaq: AFFY) 37.1% HIGHER; wins FDA panel backing of anemia drug, peginesatide. The vote was 15-1-1. Stock currently halted.

Alexza Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: ALXA) 36.4% LOWER; shares selling off ahead of an FDA panel meeting next week on the company's inhaled antipsychotic drug. Word today suggests there may be a risk for respiratory failure. An analyst at RBC Capital said Alexza has an "uphill battle" next week.

Pacific Sunwear Of California (NASDAQ: PSUN) 25.9% HIGHER; reported Q3 EPS of ($0.10), $0.04 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.14). Revenue for the quarter came in at $242 million versus the consensus estimate of $232.77 million. Total Company same-store sales decreased 3% during the period. Pacific Sunwear Of California sees Q4 2011 EPS of ($0.18)-($0.27), versus the consensus of ($0.26). Also announced it will undergo a real estate restructuring, closing 175-200 underperforming stores and a new $100 million revolving credit facility with Wells Fargo. AMR Corp. (NYSE: AMR) 24.6% LOWER; extreme volatility continues in this name this week. The stock is below the $1 level today. Most traders would view today's move lower as prudent by investors in the stock: shares of AMR surged more than 250 percent since news of the Chapter 11 filing.

Invacare Corporation (NYSE: IVC) 20.9% LOWER; reports the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has requested that the Company negotiate and agree to a consent decree of injunction relating to previously disclosed inspectional observations at the Company’s corporate facility and its wheelchair manufacturing facility in Elyria, Ohio.

G-III Apparel Group Ltd (NASDAQ: GIII) 16.7% HIGHER; reported Q3 EPS of $2.16, $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of $2.14. Revenue for the quarter came in at $510 million versus the consensus estimate of $497.49 million. Slashes its FY12 EPS guidance from $3.05-$3.15 to $2.50-$2.60, which compares to the current Street estimate of $2.80. Affirms sales guidance of about $1.25 billion. Reports license for development of Calvin Klein Women's Performance Retail Stores.

Central European Distribution Corp. (Nasdaq: CEDC) 15.1% HIGHER; In a 13D filing on CEDC after the close Wednesday afternoon, Russian Standard Corp. disclosed a letter sent to CEDC on December 6th which proposed a deal between the two which could "result in substantial benefits to the Issuer including increased cash flow, increased revenue, higher efficiency and cost savings." Blyth, Inc. (NYSE: BTH) 14.5% LOWER; Normalized Earnings Per Share for 2011 is anticipated to be in the range of $3.30 to $3.50. The 2011 guidance on a reported basis is $1.65 to $1.85 and compares to prior reported earnings per share guidance of $2.23 – $2.43. Click here to see the full report.

Healthways (Nasdaq: HWAY) 11.6% HIGHER; upgraded from Hold to Buy at Stifel Nicolaus this morning.

Frontline (NYSE: FRO) 10.4% LOWER; continuing move lower following a 34 percent jump in Monday and Tuesday.

Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA) 9.4% LOWER; downgraded by two notches from Overweight to Underweight at Morgan Stanley this morning.
