Morning Movers 11/30: PEIX, CLRT, PROV, SOMX, OTIV Higher; HPOL, MELA Lower
Pacific Ethanol (Nasdaq: PEIX) 24.7% HIGHER; continuing higher following Friday's 21% jump. Not hearing any company-specific news, but volume is much heavier than normal.
Clarient, Inc. (NASDAQ: CLRT) 20% HIGHER; today announced that privately held, Waltham, MA-based Minerva Biotechnologies has granted it the exclusive right to develop and commercialize a test that identifies the MUC1* protein, a biomarker researchers believe may be implicated in the spread of many cancers, including breast cancer. Provident Financial Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: PROV) 17.4% HIGHER; Friday announced that it has commenced a public offering of $40 million of its common stock in an underwritten public offering. The stock fell about 6% on the news, but is bucking the trend this morning.
Somaxon Pharma (Nasdaq: SOMX) 14% HIGHER; over the last five trading sessions, shares of Somaxon have closed higher everyday, adding 46% over the course. Volume continues to be very heavy.
On Track Innovations Ltd. (NASDAQ: OTIV) 9.8% HIGHER; reports Q3 loss of $0.23, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.12). Revenue for the quarter was $8.73 million, which compares to the estimate of $7.91 million. The company also announced that it has signed a contract for the supply, transfer, maintenance and operation of an electronic identification related product based on OTI's Magna(TM) platform. OTI has teamed up with a reputable system integrator that will be responsible for project management and local operation in the country. The contract provides for an initial three-year period and minimum guaranteed amount of $17 million, starting in 2010.
Harris Interactive(R) (NASDAQ: HPOL) 6.8% LOWER; today announced the launch of its Advanced Strategy LabTM in Asia.
Electro-Optical Sciences (Nasdaq: MELA) 6.3% LOWER; WBB Securities initiates coverage on the stock with a Sell rating. Price target $7.25.
