China Shen Zhou Mining & Resources (AMEX: SHZ) 88.3% HIGHER; textbook momo trade related to the recent run-up in so-called rare Earth stocks: over the last two trading sessions, shares are up almost 140%. About 30% of the upside in yesterday's 65% rally came during the last 30 minutes of trading. Volume is unprecedented today; shares have already traded nearly 3 million shares, which compares to the stock's 30-day daily average of about 100,000 shares. Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMLN) 50.4% LOWER; announced the receipt of a complete response letter from the FDA regarding the BYDUREON NDA. The FDA has requested a thorough QT study with exposures of exenatide higher than typical therapeutic levels of BYDUREON.

WSI Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: WSCI) 40.2% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.12 compared to the prior year’s quarter of $.01 per diluted share. Sales for the fourth quarter ended August 29, 2010, of $5,856,000 versus the prior year fiscal 2009 fourth quarter of $3,993,000, or an increase of 47%.

EnteroMedics Inc. (NASDAQ: ETRM) 32.6% HIGHER; today announced updated clinical results, including weight loss, HbA1c and hypertension control data, from the Company's VBLOC-DM2 ENABLE, EMPOWER and VBLOC RF2 Studies of VBLOC vagal blocking therapy delivered via the Maestro System. Alkermes (Nasdaq: ALKS) 27.7% LOWER; announced the receipt of a complete response letter from the FDA regarding the BYDUREON NDA. The FDA has requested a thorough QT study with exposures of exenatide higher than typical therapeutic levels of BYDUREON.

Dearborn Bancorp (Nasdaq: DEAR) 26.3% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.08, versus a loss of $5.24 reported for the same period a year ago.

China Direct Industries (Nasdaq: CDII) 22.1% HIGHER; could be running up for similar reasons as SHZ and CHGS.

Nanophase (Nasdaq: NANX) 22.1% HIGHER; shares are continuing higher today. The stock surged 24% yesterday in just the last 10 minutes of trading. Volume is extremely heavy today.

Multiband (Nasdaq: MBND) 22% HIGHER; not hearing any company-specific news today. The company filed an S-1 with the SEC yesterday to register more than 5 million shares.

Datalink Corp. (Nasdaq: DTLK) 22% HIGHER; reports Q3 non-GAAP EPS of $0.11, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.07. Revenue for the quarter was $69.2 million, which compares to the estimate of $69.50 million. The company sees Q410 revs of $75 - $80 million and a non-GAAP EPS of $0.12 - $0.16. Consensus sees revs of $75.71 million and an EPS of $0.13.

Verenium Corporation (Nasdaq: VRNM) 19.4% HIGHER; announced that Purifine PLC has attained all requirements by Chinese regulator to be sold as an edible oil. Verenium will now be able to sell Purifine PLC in countries like the U.S. and Brazil, amongst others.

FSI Intl (Nasdaq: FSII) 14.6% LOWER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.17, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.15. Revenue for the quarter was $28.8 million, which compares to the estimate of $29.36 million. Sees Q1 $10 - $12 million, vs. consensus of $26.6 million.

Molecular Insight Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: MIPI) 12.5% HIGHER; It was demonstrated that paclitaxel inhibited the growth of human prostate tumor cells in culture, and binding of Trofex was proportional to the density of live cells. Paclitaxel did not alter PSMA expression in these cells. Check the release.

Marten Transport (Nasdaq: MRTN) 12.3% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.25, cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.27. Revenue for the quarter was $128.7 million, which compares to the estimate of $128.20 million.

Christopher & Banks Corporation (NYSE: CBK) 11.7% LOWER; announced today the election of Larry Barenbaum as Interim CEO. Mr. Barenbaum replaces Lorna Nagler, who resigned all positions with the Company to pursue other interests, effective immediately. The stock was also downgraded at Sterne Agee.

First Midwest Bancorp Inc. (Nasdaq: FMBI) 11.6% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.00, 7 cents lower than the analyst estimate of $0.07.

Pinnacle Financial (Nasdaq: PNFP) 11.5% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.02, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.29). The stock was also upgraded at Raymond James.

Novo-Nordisk (NYSE: NVO) 10.9% HIGHER; benefiting from news that Amylin, Alermes and Eli Lilly have been hit with more test requests on bydureon from the FDA.

Hawaiian Holdings (NYSE: HA) 10.4% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.55, ex-items, vs. the analyst estimate of $0.36. Revenue for the quarter was $352 million, which compares to the estimate of $353.57 million.

RC2 (Nasdaq: RCRC) 10% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.63 ex-items, versus the analyst estimate of $0.67. Revenue for the quarter was $129.0 million, which compares to the estimate of $134.71 million. Reaffirms FY10 outlook.

Lindsay Corporation (NYSE: LNN) 9.4% HIGHER; Reports Q4 EPS of $0.48, 20 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.28 Revenue for the quarter was $87.2 million, which compares to the estimate of $85.74 million.

Media General, Inc. (NYSE: MEG) 9.3% LOWER; reports Q3 loss of $0.48, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.04). Revenue for the quarter was $163.2 million, which compares to the estimate of $169.40 million. Sees Q410 revs up 6% - 8%, compared to the consensus of $201.00 million.

LaBranche (NYSE: LAB) 9% LOWER; continuing lower today following an 11% decline yesterday amid Q3 results.
