Morning Movers 10/07: (SWTX) (IPGP) (SWHC) (SREV) Higher; (ILMN) (CLWR) (CSII) Lower

Southwall Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: SWTX) 45.3% HIGHER; Solutia Inc. (NYSE: SOA) and Southwall today announced that they have signed a definitive agreement providing for Solutia to acquire Southwall for $13.60 per share of Southwall common stock in cash.

Illumina (Nasdaq: ILMN) 31.7% LOWER; sees Q3 sales of about $235 million, which compares to the Street estimate of $277.72 million. Sees Q4 sales higher than Q3 sales. Suspending guidance for the full year.

Clearwire (Nasdaq: CLWR) 18% LOWER; stock plunged lower, AP attributing weakness to comments from Sprint Pres of Network Operations saying the company may stop making Clearwire-compatible devices. The stock has been halted on a circuit breaker 3 or 4 times now.

Cardiovascular Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CSII) 19.7% LOWER; reports prelim. Q1 loss of 22-24c, vs. cons of an 18c loss. Sees sales $18.7 million, vs. the consensus of $21.6 million.

IPG Photonics Corporation (NASDAQ: IPGP) 14.5% HIGHER; today announced that a jury in the District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan has determined that the Company does not infringe on IMRA America’s patent number 5,818,630 in a suit originally brought by IMRA in 2006.

Smith & Wesson Holding Corporation (Nasdaq: SWHC) 12.9% HIGHER; has made the decision to divest its perimeter security business in order to focus on its core firearm business. The Company is currently exploring strategic alternatives to accomplish the divestiture.

ServiceSource (Nasdaq: SREV) 10.7% HIGHER; reports prelim. Q3 sales above $49 million. Sees breakeven to a loss of 1 cent per share. Sees FY11 sales above $195 million.

Suntech (NYSE: STP) 9% HIGHER; solar stocks continue to bounce this week following sharp downside over the last few weeks. Shares are up more than 26 percent this week. The stock has pushed over resistance around $2.50.

Coffee Holding (Nasdaq: JVA) 8% HIGHER; continuing to rebound after falling more than 56 percent over the last two weeks.
