Morning Movers 09/13: (FTWR) (LPH) (QRE) Higher; (GOK) (SVM) (ITMN) Lower

FiberTower (Nasdaq: FTWR) 20.2% HIGHER; continuing higher today after retaking the 200-day moving average and all-important $1 level yesterday. Shares were up 8.5 percent Monday.

Geokinetics (NYSE: GOK) 17.1% LOWER; continuing lower following recent downside amid an accident at one of the company's rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. Several men were found dead. The stock was downgraded to Market Perform at Raymond James this morning.

Longwei Petroleum (AMEX: LPH) 11.6% HIGHER; reported FY11 sales rose 40 percent ot $481.6 million. Non-GAAP EPS rose to 67 cents, up from 50 cents during 2010. Reaffirmed its FY12 outlook.

Silvercorp Metals Inc. (NYSE: SVM) 10.4% LOWER; on Twitter, Muddy Waters said they are short the stock and highlight the Alfred Little blog post, noted earlier.

QR Energy LP (NYSE: QRE) 9.7% HIGHER; Alerian announced today that following the close of business on Friday, September 16, QR Energy will be added to the Alerian MLP Index (NYSE: AMZ). The stock was also upgraded to Outperform at Baird this morning.

InterMune, Inc. (Nasdaq: ITMN) 9.4% LOWER; today announced that it plans to offer, subject to market and other conditions, 4,000,000 shares of its common stock and $100 million aggregate principal amount of convertible senior notes due 2018 in concurrent underwritten public offerings. The company expects to grant the underwriters 30-day options to purchase up to an additional 600,000 shares of common stock and up to an additional $15 million aggregate principal amount of convertible senior notes in connection with the offerings.

Inovio Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (AMEX: INO) 8.9% HIGHER; reports that early data from a Phase I study assessing its PENNVAX-G global HIV vaccine plus a virus vector vaccine, Modified Vaccinia Ankara-Chiang Mai Double Recombinant (MVA-CMDR), as a unique prime-boost preventive HIV vaccination strategy has demonstrated strong immune responses and safety. This interim data was from the first cohort of 11 healthy subjects enrolled in the US as part of the first phase of the study to assess safety of the prime-boost combination vaccine. Enrollment will now continue in three sites in Africa in the next phase of the study.
