Presidential Life Corporation (NASDAQ: PLFE) 37.1% HIGHER; Presidential Life and Athene Holding Ltd., a Bermuda-based holding company, today announced a definitive agreement for an Athene subsidiary to acquire Presidential Life for $14.00 per share in cash.

Bridgepoint Education (NYSE: BPI) 26.5% LOWER; is getting slammed once again today, thanks in part to its Ashford University unit. According to a release earlier, the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges (HLC) sent a letter to Ashford, requiring its to provide an report aiming at ensuring the university is still in compliance with HLCs Criteria for Accreditation. Shares have gotten cut in half over just the last few days of trading following a WASC denial.

New York & Company, Inc. (NYSE: NWY) 18.6% HIGHER; sees Q2 comps up slightly, gross margins up 400-500 basis points year over year and an operating loss to be in the range of $5 million to $7 million versus an operating loss of $15.1 million in the year-ago period.

Box Ships Inc. (NYSE: TEU) 16.8% LOWER; today announced that it has priced its previously announced public offering of $30,000,005 of its common shares at $7.00 per share.

Affymax (Nasdaq: AFFY) 15.2% HIGHER; continuing higher following a 19 percent surge yesterday on news of an OMONTYS sourcing and supply agreement with Takeda. Shares held over $14 to finish yesterday's session, and have charged through both $15 and $16 this morning.

Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE: LXK) 13.3% LOWER; sees Q2 sales down 12 percent, compared to prior guidance of a 7-9 percent decline. Non-GAAP EPS is expected at $0.87 to $0.89 versus its prior guidance of $0.95 to $1.05 and the consensus of $1.00.

ReneSola Ltd (NYSE: SOL) 13.2% HIGHER; today announced it has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement to provide 100 MW of the Company's high-efficiency Virtus modules to BIG SOLAR S.A. The company raised its FY12 shipment guidance from 1.8-2 GW to 2.2-2.4 GW.

Peregrine Pharma (Nasdaq: PPHM) 13.1% HIGHER; continuing higher following a 23 percent on Thursday after breaking above several important technical indicators late on Wednesday. Shares held over $0.90 yesterday and are over $1 today. The stock has not held consistently over this level since September of last year.

Ampio Pharma (Nasdaq: AMPE) 10.1% LOWER; pricing an offering of 4,615,400 shares at $3.25/share.

Orexigen Therapeutics (Nasdaq: OREX) 8.5% HIGHER; shares are trading higher in sympathy following a note from Jefferies on the potential for Orexigen rival VIVUS' (Nasdaq: VVUS) obesity drug, Qnexa. The firm gives a 50-50 chance of FDA approval for Qnexa.

Green Mountain (Nasdaq: GMCR) 8.5% LOWER; comments related to K-Cup pricing and expected increased promotional activity from Stifel Nicolaus' Mark Astrachan are weighing this morning. Click here to see the full report.

BioCryst Pharma (Nasdaq: BCRX) 8% HIGHER; continuing a late-day rally from yesterday. Shares are holding above both the 50- and 200-day simple moving averages. Volume is very heavy today.
