LaCrosse Footwear (Nasdaq: BOOT) 81% HIGHER; ABC-MART entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the company for about $20 per share in cash. The deal is valued at about $138 million.
Chelsea Therapeutics (Nasdaq: CHTP) 30.5% HIGHER; retaking an important technical level at $1 following more than 40 percent plunge on July 3rd as the company said the FDA may need more info on its Northera. Volume is extremely heavy today.
Informatica's (Nasdaq: INFA) 28.1% LOWER; offered preliminary Q2 results. Informatica now sees quarterly sales of $188-$190 million, which compares to the Street estimate of $217.15 million. EPS will be in the range of 27-28 cents, which compares to the Street estimate of 37 cents. The Board is adding $100 million to its buyback program.
Sucampo Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: SCMP) 24.9% LOWER; has received a final binding decision on its claims in the dispute with its partner, Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited. The International Court of Arbitration, International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) did not agree with Sucampo’s claims and did not award any attorneys’ fees or costs. Sucampo is disappointed with the ICC’s decision.
Qlik Technologies (Nasdaq: QLIK) 14.3% LOWER; trading lower amid Informatica's warning.
Xyratex, Ltd. (NASDAQ: XRTX) 13.6% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.32, $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of $0.29. Revenue for the quarter came in at $322.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $327.03 million. Sees Q3 2012 non-GAAP EPS of $0.39-$0.77, versus the consensus of $0.47. Sees Q3 2012 revenue of $313-$373 million, versus the consensus of $350.05 million.
Acme Packet (Nasdaq: APKT) 13.2% LOWER; sees Q2 sales of $66-$68 million, which compares to the Street estimate of $73.91 million, on a non-GAAP gain of 12-13 cents per share. The Street is currently expecting Q2 EPS of 18 cents.
Synacor (Nasdaq: SYNC) 11.7% HIGHER; after gapping above both the 50- and 200-day simple moving averages at the open this morning, shares charged through the $14 level and have broken above resistance at $15. Volume spiked higher as technicians pushed shares over $15.
MicroStrategy (Nasdaq: MSTR) 10.4% LOWER; trading lower amid the Informatica warning.
Alexza Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALXA) 10.2% LOWER; reports that the U.S. FDA has accepted the Company's resubmitted ADASUVE NDA as a complete, class 2 response to the FDA's action letter, with an indicated PDUFA goal date of December 21, 2012. On June 22, 2012, Alexza announced that it had resubmitted the ADASUVE NDA, which seeks marketing approval for the acute treatment of agitation associated with schizophrenia or bipolar I disorder in adults.
Teradata (NYSE: TDC) 10.2% LOWER; likely trading lower amid the Informatica warning.
Navistar International Corporation (NYSE: NAV) 10.2% LOWER; will introduce its next generation clean engine solution – In-Cylinder Technology Plus (ICT+) – to meet 2010 U.S. EPA emissions regulations and position the company to meet greenhouse gas rules in advance of 2014 and 2017 requirements.
A123 Systems (Nasdaq: AONE) 9.2% LOWER; announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement with existing institutional investors to sell (i) an aggregate of 7,692,308 shares of its common stock, at an offer price of $1.30 per share, and (ii) warrants to purchase additional shares of Common Stock in a registered direct offering for gross proceeds of approximately $10.0 million.
