Supernus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: SUPN) 126.7% HIGHER; received a tentative approval letter from the FDA for Trokendi XR™, a once-daily extended release formulation of topiramate (formerly known as SPN-538).
James River Coal (Nasdaq: JRCC) 17.8% LOWER; coal names remain under pressure as the energy sector continues to be sold. The Market Vectors Coal ETF (NYSE: KOL) is down about 27 percent since the beginning of May.
Southern Community Financial (Nasdaq: SCMF) 12.4% HIGHER; announced the terms of its recent deal with Capital Bank have been amended. The consideration for the deal moves from $2.875/share in cash or stock to $3.11/share in only cash.
Alimera Sciences (Nasdaq: ALIM) 11.8% HIGHER; continuing higher following a breakout yesterday. The stock surged nearly 16 percent and pushed over resistance at $3. Volume is very heavy today.
Patriot Coal (NYSE: PCX) 11.1% LOWER; shares are down about 82 percent since the beginning of May.
Midway Gold (AMEX: MDW) 10.1% LOWER; traders taking profits following a 9.5 percent jump on Friday. Gold is down about $20 per ounce at last check.
China Gerui Advanced Materials Group Limited (NASDAQ: CHOP) 9.7% HIGHER; today announced the Company has begun to export its high-end wide- and narrow-strip steel to customers located in Turkey and India.
Anthera Pharma (Nasdaq: ANTH) 9.6% HIGHER; pushing over resistance at $3 for the first time since March. Shares are up more than 60 percent in June.
DXP Enterprises (Nasdaq: DXPE) 9.4% LOWER; technicians selling the stock after the price could not stick near the 50-day simple moving average after some consolidation late yesterday.
