MEMSIC, Inc. (NASDAQ: MEMS) 35.4% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.05, $0.08 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.03). Revenue for the quarter came in at $20 million versus the consensus estimate of $18.35 million. Sees Q2 2012 EPS of $-0.04-$-0.06.

Chiquita Brands International, Inc. (NYSE: CQB) 32.4% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.04, $0.28 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.32. Revenue for the quarter came in at $793 million versus the consensus estimate of $768.05 million.

SodaStream (Nasdaq: SODA) 22.5% HIGHER; reported Q1 earnings of 55 cents per share on sales of $87.9 million. Analysts on the Street were looking for EPS of just 36 cents on sales of $56.78 million. SodaStream also boosted its FY12 sales growth guidance from 28 percent to 33 percent and its net income growth outlook from 42 percent to 50 percent. The growth implies full-year sales of about $384.4 million. The Street is currently expecting FY12 sales of $336.3 million. On the call, an exec said the company's devices have already started shipping to Walmart.

AMYRIS, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMRS) 22.3% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of ($1.02), $0.36 worse than the analyst estimate of ($0.66). Revenue for the quarter came in at $21.5 million versus the consensus estimate of $45.03 thousand.

Dynavax Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: DVAX) 21.8% LOWER; today announced the pricing of an underwritten public offering of 17,500,000 shares of its common stock, offered at a price to the public of $4.25 per share.

Cost Plus (Nasdaq: CPWM) 21.7% HIGHER; Bed Bath & Beyond (Nasdaq: BBBY) to acquire the company for $22/share in an all cash deal.

Pluristem Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: PSTI) 19.7% HIGHER; reports that a seven year-old girl suffering from an aplastic bone marrow whose condition was rapidly deteriorating is now experiencing a reversal of her condition with a significant increase in her red cells, white cells and platelets following the intramuscular injection of the company's PLacental eXpanded (PLX) cells. Aplastic bone marrow is a disease where the patient has no blood-forming hematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow.

Hilltop Holdings Inc. (NYSE: HTH) 19.7% HIGHER; Hilltop and PlainsCapital Corporation jointly announced the companies have signed a definitive merger agreement pursuant to which PlainsCapital Corporation will become a subsidiary of Hilltop. The purchase consideration to PlainsCapital Corporation common shareholders includes approximately 27.5 million shares of Hilltop common stock and $318 million of cash. Each share of PlainsCapital Corporation common stock will be converted into the right to receive $9.00 in cash and 0.776 shares of Hilltop common stock.

Demand Media (NYSE: DMD) 19.3% HIGHER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.07, $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of $0.05. Revenue for the quarter came in at $86.23 million versus the consensus estimate of $79.66 million. Sees Q2 2012 EPS of $0.07-$0.08, versus the consensus of $0.07. Sees Q2 2012 revenue of $89-$91 million, versus the consensus of $83.31 million. Sees FY2012 EPS of $0.33-$0.35, versus the consensus of $0.30. Sees FY2012 revenue of $361-$367 million, versus the consensus of $340.62 million.

First California Financial Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: FCAL) 18.5% HIGHER; today announced, in response to PacWest Bancorp's unsolicited and highly conditional offer to acquire First California Financial Group for shares of PacWest common stock, First California stated that its Board of Directors promptly reviewed the proposal and sought further clarifying information from PacWest concerning the terms and value of the proposal and related matters. However, PacWest failed to provide satisfactory answers to those questions and refused to enter into a nondisclosure agreement that did not contain an exclusivity provision. The First California Board did not believe that it was in the best interests of stockholders to grant exclusivity to PacWest in the absence of satisfactory clarification of the terms.

EnergySolutions (NYSE: ES) 17.7% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.04, $0.04 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.08. Revenue for the quarter came in at $490.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $495.33 million.

Tangoe (NASDAQ: TNGO) 15.5% HIGHER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.09, $0.01 better than the analyst estimate of $0.08. Revenue for the quarter came in at $34.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $33 million. Sees Q2 2012 EPS of $0.09, versus the consensus of $0.09. Sees Q2 2012 revenue of $35.0-$35.5 million, versus the consensus of $34.9 million. Sees FY2012 EPS of $0.41-$0.42, versus the consensus of $0.42.
