Morning Movers 02/27: (BPAX) (ATPG) (PEIX) (ALIM) Higher; (DNDN) (IMI) (BCPC) Lower

BioSante Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: BPAX) 17.6% HIGHER; announced presentation of results from a Phase Ib clinical study that show its GVAX Pancreas cancer vaccine increased the median survival of pancreatic cancer patients with previously treated, locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PDA), from 3.3 months when treated with ipilimumab, to 5.5 months on the combination of IPI plus GVAX Pancreas, an increase of more than 60 percent.

Dendreon Corp (NASDAQ: DNDN) 17.4% LOWER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.26, or $0.45 ex-items, which does not compare to the analyst estimate of ($0.23). Revenue for the quarter came in at $202.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $120.8 million. Product revenue for the fourth quarter of 2011 was $77 million compared to $25 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2010.

ATP Oil & Gas Corporation (Nasdaq: ATPG) 16.7% HIGHER; announcement of first oil production at its Mississippi Canyon Block 942 A-3 (#2) well, the fourth well at its Telemark Hub.

Intermolecular (Nasdaq: IMI) 16.5% LOWER; Pacific Crest downgraded the stock to Sector Perform this morning. Shares are now below the $7 support level.

Pacific Ethanol (Nasdaq: PEIX) 16.1% HIGHER; while crude oil is pulling back following a nine-day streak of higher closes, Pacific Ethanol shares are continuing to break out today. The stock rallied more than 27 percent on Friday.

Alimera Sciences (Nasdaq: ALIM) 15.8% HIGHER; in addition to Alimera, shares of eye disease treatment manufacturer pSivida (Nasdaq: PSDV) are also rallying sharply this morning. That stock is up 26 percent.

TranS1 Inc (NASDAQ: TSON) 14.3% HIGHER; Canaccord Genuity upgraded the stock from Hold to Buy, price target raised from $3.00 to $3.50.

Orexigen Therapeutics (Nasdaq: OREX) 11.7% HIGHER; seems to be spiking above resistance at $3.75 and the 200-day SMA. Volume is extremely heavy today.

Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NYSE: LNG) 11.5% HIGHER; Blackstone Energy Partners L.P. said it would purchase newly issued Cheniere Energy Partners, LP (NYSE: CQP) Senior Subordinated Paid-in-Kind Units for $2 billion. CQP would use the proceeds of the Financing to fund the equity portion of the costs of developing, constructing and placing into service its Sabine Pass liquefaction project being developed at the Sabine Pass LNG terminal, the purchase of the Creole Trail pipeline from Cheniere Energy and other partnership business purposes.

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. (NYSE: CTB) 11.5% HIGHER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.51, vs. the analyst estimate of $0.39. Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.05 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.02 billion.

Balchem Corporation (NASDAQ: BCPC) 11.3% LOWER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.31, versus $0.31 reported last year. Revenue for the quarter came in at $69.3 million, versus $69.8 million reported last year.

Microvision, Inc. (NASDAQ: MVIS) 9.4% LOWER; reported Q4 EPS of ($0.62), versus ($1.27) reported last year. Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.5 million, versus $683 thousand reported last year.
