UPWARD MOVERS:
AMREP Corp. (NYSE: AXR) +$10.93; Stock moving higher with no specific news releases.

Palomar Medical Technologies (Nasdaq: PMTI ) +$5.25; Company has become the first company to receive a 510(k) over-the-counter (OTC) clearance from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for a new, patented, home use, light-based hair removal device. OTC clearance allows the product to be marketed and sold directly to consumers without a prescription.

InterContinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE) +$4.82; Goldman Sachs raises price target to $130.

NYSE Group, Inc. (NYSE: NYX) +$3.40; Goldman Sachs raises price target to $120.

New River Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: NRPH) +$3.16; Rumors the company may be a takeover/merger target. Suitors may include Shire Pharma (Nasdaq: SHPGY).


DOWNWARD MOVERS:
Hubbell Inc (NYSE: HUBB) -$7.13; Announced that it is reducing its projections for 2006 full year results. The Company expects sales for the year ending December 31, 2006, to be approximately $40 million below its previous expectations while earnings per diluted share are anticipated to be in the range of $2.53 -- $2.58. Current consensus is $2.86.

Nuvelo Inc. (Nasdaq: NUVO) -$15.67; Nuvelo and Bayer HealthCare (NYSE: BAY) announced top-line data demonstrating that the Phase 3 clinical trial of alfimeprase in acute peripheral arterial occlusion (PAO), known as NAPA-2 (Novel Arterial Perfusion with Alfimeprase-2), did not meet its primary endpoint of avoidance of open vascular surgery within 30 days of treatment. The companies also announced that the Phase 3 trial in catheter occlusion (CO), known as SONOMA-2 (Speedy Opening of Non-functional and Occluded catheters with Mini-dose Alfimeprase- 2), did not meet the endpoint of restoration of function at 15 minutes. These trials did not meet key secondary endpoints.

NEOPHARM (Nasdaq: NEOL) -$4.84; Announced that the pivotal Phase 3 PRECISE trial evaluating cintredekin besudotox (IL13-PE38QQR) for the treatment of recurrent glioblastoma multiforme did not meet the efficacy endpoint at 215 deaths, which was a statistically significant difference, or separation, in the overall survival curves versus Gliadel Wafer.

Vertex Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: VRTX) -$2.86; Merck (NYSE: MRK) and VRTX announced results of a Phase I clinical trial for MK-0457 (also known as VX-680), an investigational small molecule inhibitor of Aurora, FLT-3, JAK-2 and BCR-ABL kinases. Also, the company was added to the Nasdaq 100.

Medicines Co (Nasdaq: MDCO) -$2.12; In Today's 8-K From Medicines Co: The principal U.S. patent that covers The Medicines Company's product, Angiomax, expires in 2010. The United States Patent and Trademark Office has rejected the Company's application under the Hatch Waxman Act for an extension of the term of the patent beyond 2010 because the application was not filed on time by our counsel.
