Barrett Business Services (BBSI) Misses Q4 EPS by 9c; Guides Below for Q1

Barrett Business Services (Nasdaq: BBSI) reports Q4 EPS of $0.21, 9 cents worse than the analyst estimate of $0.30. Revenue for the quarter was $263.12 million, versus the consensus of $275.54 million.

The Company expects gross revenues for the first quarter of 2009 to range from $240 million to $245 million and anticipates diluted loss per share for the first quarter of 2009 to range from $.19 to $.22 per share. (Q1 revenue consensus is $269.09 million and EPS consensus is $0.02 profit)

The Company currently expects to return to profitability beginning with the 2009 second quarter. A reconciliation of estimated gross revenues to estimated GAAP net revenues for the first quarter of 2009 is not included because PEO revenues and cost of PEO revenues for the period are not reasonably estimable.[SM]
