Vonage (NYSE: VG) 27% HIGHER; has announced that Apple approved its mobile application for iPhone and iPod Touch. Vonage is currently conducting a beta test and general availability will be announced at a later date. This new service, along with the recent launch of the Vonage World unlimited calling plan, continues Vonage's heritage of using innovative technology to create significant value for its current and future customers.
Applied Signal Technology (Nasdaq: APSG) 9.7% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.25, 1 cent below the analyst estimate of $0.26. Revenue for the quarter was $49.5 million, versus the consensus of $53.61 million. The Company reported that new orders received during the third quarter of fiscal year 2009 were $51,235,000 compared to new orders of $70,275,000 during the third quarter of fiscal year 2008.
Abiomed, Inc. (NASDAQ: ABMD) 8.4% LOWER; has been informed by Mark Anderson, M.D., associate professor of surgery at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and chief of the section of cardiac surgery at both the medical school and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, that the first patient to receive the commercial AbioCor(R) Total Replacement Heart, died on August 23, 2009, due to post-operative conditions unrelated to the device. The device was implanted in the patient in June 15, 2009 and was operating successfully, however the patient's pre-existing medical conditions precluded a full recovery with the AbioCor.
VeriFone Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: PAY) 4.9% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.26, ex-items, 8 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.18. Revenue for the quarter was $211.2 million, versus the consensus of $202.18 million. Sees Q4 adj-EPS of $0.23-$0.25, versus the consensus of $0.19 Sees quarterly sales of $208-$215 million, versus the consensus of $202.63 million. Sees FY09 adj-EPS of $0.83-$0.85, which compares to the Street estimate of $0.70, and on sales of $835-$842 million, versus the consensus of $821.26 million.
Flow International Corporation (Nasdaq: FLOW) 4.6% LOWER; announced its intention to offer, subject to market and other customary conditions, up to 9 million shares of common stock through Roth Capital Partners, LLC.
Hologic, Inc. (Nasdaq: HOLX) 3% HIGHER; announced the FDA cleared the Company's 510K application for the MammoSite(R) ML radiation therapy system. With its multi-lumen design, this new device gives radiation oncologists the ability to shape the radiation dose for typical cases and treat patients who are otherwise not appropriate candidates for traditional brachytheray.
ADC (Nasdaq: ADCT) 1.9% HIGHER; reports Q3 non-GAAP EPS of $0.17, 3 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.14. Revenue for the quarter was $283.4 million. Sees Q4 GAAP loss of $0.06 to EPS of $0.02, ex-items, on sales of $160-$175 million. The Street is currently expecting Q4 EPS of $0.16.
American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc. (NYSE: AXL) 1.8% HIGHER; Hedge fund disclosed a 6.2% stake (3,445,300) in American Axle. The firm held 600,000 shares at the quarter ended 6/30/09. A 13G filing indicates a passive investment above 5%.
