Alkermes, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALKS) 11.8% LOWER; has received notification from Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Janssen Pharmaceutica International, a division of Cilag International AG, that based on a portfolio review it has decided not to pursue further development of the four-week long-acting injectable formulation of risperidone.

Sigma Designs Inc. (Nasdaq: SIGM) 7.1% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.28, ex-items, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.28. Revenue for the quarter was $51.3 million, versus the consensus of $51.48 million.

Jo-Ann Stores, Inc. (NYSE: JAS) 6.4% HIGHER; reports Q2 loss of $0.13, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.39). Revenue for the quarter was $403 million, versus the consensus of $419.40 million. Same store sales rose 1.8% during the quarter. Sees FY10 adj-EPS of $1.35-$1.50, versus the consensus of $1.10.

Coldwater Creek Inc. (Nasdaq: CWTR) 3.9% LOWER; reports Q2 loss of $0.05, in-line with the analyst estimate of ($0.05). Revenue for the quarter was $225.2 million, versus the consensus of $222.05 million. Sees Q3 results up from Q2.

Guess? Inc. (NYSE: GES) 2.6% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.64, versus the analyst estimate of $0.44. Revenue for the quarter was $522.4 million, versus the consensus of $485.15 million. Sees Q2 same store sales down 12.5% in US dollars. Raises its quarterly dividend by 25% to $0.125 per common share. Sees Q3 EPS of $0.46-$0.49 on sales of $465-$485 million. The Street is currently looking for Q3 EPS and sales of $0.49 and $479.69 million, respectively.
