Avanex Corp. (Nasdaq: AVNXD) 25.5% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.011, ex-items, 6 cents lower than the analyst estimate of $0.17. Revenues for the quarter were $51.8 million, versus the consensus of $52.35 million. Sees Q1 sales in the range of $44-$48 million, versus the consensus of $55.27 million.
Pacific Sunwear of California, Inc. (Nasdaq: PSUN) 22.8% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.06, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.06. Revenues for the quarter were $312.7 million, versus the consensus of $309.68 million. Same store sales fell 1% during the quarter. Sees Q3 EPS from continuing operations of $0.00-$0.05 and Q3 adj-EPS of $0.11-$0.16. The Street estimate for Q3 is currently $0.23.
Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq: NDSN) 21.3% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.93, 5 cents lower than the analyst estimate of $0.98. Revenues for the quarter were $288 million, versus the consensus of $298.35 million. Sees Q4 sales down 1% to up 3% and EPS in the range of $0.84-$0.94, versus the Street estimate of $1.05.
Verigy, Ltd. (Nasdaq: VRGY) 10% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.29, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of $0.28. Revenues for the quarter were $179 million, versus the consensus of $175.75 million. Sees Q4 sales in the range of $155-$165 million and EPS of $0.12-$0.17. The Street estimates are $179.21 million for sales and $0.31 for EPS.
Foot Locker, Inc. (NYSE: FL) 8.7% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.11, 9 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.02. Revenues for the quarter were $1.302 billion, versus the consensus of $1.27 billion. Comps down 0.5%. Foot Locker sees FY08 EPS of 70c-85c versus consensus of 72c.
First Marblehead (NYSE: FMD) 7.8% LOWER; reports Q4 loss of $0.57, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.39). Revenues for the quarter were ($33.8 million), versus the consensus of ($24.14 million).
Noah Education Holdings (NYSE: NED) 7.6% LOWER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.12, which may not be comparable to the analyst estimate of $0.37 and versus $0.12 reported in the same quarter last year. Sees Q1 sales of about RMB 83.1.
ShoreTel, Inc. (Nasdaq: SHOR) 7.4% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.04, 5 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.01). Revenues for the quarter were $34.7 million, versus the consensus of $31.68 million.
Gap Inc. (NYSE: GPS) 3.4% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.32 adjusted, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.30. Revenues for the quarter were $3.5 billion, versus the consensus of $3.52 billion. Gap sees FY08 EPS $1.30-$1.35 versus consensus of $1.34 per share.
Aeropostale, Inc. (NYSE: ARO) 2.9% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.32, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of $0.31. Revenues for the quarter were $377.1 million, versus the consensus of $376.49 million. Aeropostale sees Q3 EPS 59c-61c versus consensus of 60 cents.
