After-Hours Movers 7/14: IBKR, SHOR, VVUS, GSK, SWKS Higher; PPHM, OPNT, UFPI, LSTR Lower
Peregrine Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: PPHM) 14.2% LOWER; reports Q4 loss of $0.16, 7 cents lower than the analyst estimate of ($0.09). Revenue for the quarter was $4.4 million, which compares to the estimate of $6.78 million.
OPNET Tech. (Nasdaq: OPNT) 14% LOWER; lowers its Q1 sales guidance from $32-$34.5 million to $30.9-$31.1 million, which compares to the Street estimate of $33.65 million. EPS guidance for the quarter is narrowed from $0.03-$0.08 to $0.05-$0.06, versus the consensus estimate of $0.11.
Universal Forest Products Inc. (Nasdaq: UFPI) 7% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.70, versus the analyst estimate of $0.89. Revenue for the quarter was $638.6 million, which compares to the estimate of $598 million.
Interactive Brokers Group Inc. (NASDAQ: IBKR) 4% HIGHER; will replace CyberSource Corp. (NASDAQ: CYBS) in the S&P SmallCap 600.
ShoreTel, Inc. (Nasdaq: SHOR) 2.9% HIGHER; today announced that revenues for the quarter ended June 30, 2010 are expected to be higher than its previously announced guidance for the period. ShoreTel now expects to report revenues for its fourth quarter to be between $41 and $42 million, compared to its previously announced guidance of $35 to $38 million. The company also expects its non-GAAP gross margins to be an all-time company record and moderately higher than the high end of its previously guided range of 64 to 65 percent. Consensus sees revs of $37.83 million.
VIVUS (Nasdaq: VVUS) 2.2% HIGHER; shares are bouncing after dropping sharply into the close following rumors that tomorrow's FDA committee meeting has been postponed. After the close, one source suggests that the meeting is still scheduled for tomorrow.
Landstar System (Nasdaq: LSTR) 1.6% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.49, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of $0.48. Revenue for the quarter was $641.7 million, which compares to the estimate of $599.71 million. Raises its quarterly dividend to $0.05 per common share. Sees Q3 sales up 25-33%. EPS are expected to be $0.47-$0.52, versus the consensus of $0.50.
GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE: GSK) 1% HIGHER; Health regulators in the U.S. said Wednesday that GlaxoSmithKline PLC's diabetes drug Avandia should be allowed to remain on the market in some form, which is relief to the company as it was facing further litigation and even a possible ban. The Food and Drug Administration said that the 33-member panel of experts cast 20 votes for various options that would allow the treatment to remain on the market. The drug had been under examination for potential heart risks.
Skyworks Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ: SWKS) 1% HIGHER; will replace Sybase Inc. (NYSE: SY) in the S&P MidCap 400
