After-Hours Movers 7/12: MBI, BRKS, AA, QTWW, ESV, NVLS Higher; BMTI, ID Lower
MBIA Inc. (NYSE: MBI) 6.4% HIGHER; Bruce Berkowitz's Fairholme Capital disclosed an 11.1%, or 22,736,200 share, stake in the embattled bond insurer. The firm did not show a common share stake at the quarter ended March 31, 2010.
BioMimetic Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: BMTI) 6% LOWER; announced today a public offering of 5,000,000 shares of its common stock. BioMimetic has granted the underwriters an option to purchase up to an additional 15% of shares of common stock to cover over-allotments. BioMimetic expects to use the net proceeds of the offering for development and commercialization of its product pipeline and general corporate purposes.
L-1 Identity (NYSE: ID) 4.1% LOWER; sees sales for the first half of 2010 to be below the previously issued range of $310-$315 million. Also, adjusted EBITDA will also be below the prior range of $42-$45 million.
Alcoa (NYSE: AA) 3.2% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.13, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of $0.12. Revenue for the quarter was $5.2 billion, which compares to the estimate of $5.05 billion.
Brooks Automation (Nasdaq: BRKS) 3% HIGHER; raises its Q3 EPS guidance to 22-24c and sales guidance to $156-$157 million. The Street is currently looking for Q3 EPS and sales of 19c and $152.68 million, respectively.
Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc. (Nasdaq: QTWW) 1.9% HIGHER; reports Q4 loss of $0.04, 1 cent lower than the analyst estimate of ($0.03). Revenue for the quarter was $3.8 million, which compares to the estimate of $3.47 million.
Ensco plc (NYSE: ESV) 1.6% HIGHER; Einhorn's Greenlight hedge fund disclosed a 5.2%, or 7,416,880 share, stake in the oil driller. The firm did not show a stake in the company at the quarter ended March 31, 2010.
Novellus (Nasdaq: NVLS) 1% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.66, 6 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.60. Revenue for the quarter was $321.4 million, which compares to the estimate of $312.01 million.
