Blockbuster Inc. (NYSE: BBI) 26% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.19, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.15. Revenue for the quarter was $1.12 billion, versus the consensus of $1.30 billion.
Eddie Bauer Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: EBHI) 19.2% LOWER; reports Q1 net loss of $44.5 million, or $1.44 per share, compared to a loss of $19.3 million. Revenue for the quarter was $179.8 million, versus $213.2 million in Q108. Same store sales fell 11.3% excluding the effect of Canadian exchange rates.
American Dairy (NYSE: ADY) 14.7% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $1.55, versus the analyst estimate of $0.40 and compared to $0.41 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $113.8 million, versus the consensus of $99.05 million.
Metabasis Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: MBRX) 14.6% LOWER; reports a Q1 loss of $0.23 per share, compared to a net loss of $0.36 per share for the first quarter ended March 31, 2008. Revenues for the first quarter ended March 31, 2009 were $1.9 million compared to $0.9 million for the same period in 2008.
Tandy Brands Accessories (Nasdaq: TBAC) 9.2% LOWER; reports a Q3 loss of $1.78 vs. consensus of $0.00 (breakeven) The 2009 third fiscal quarter results include a noncash inventory write-down of $7.5 million, and a charge of $844,000 associated with a corporate restructuring plan announced in January 2009. Revenues were $25.1 million vs. $33.99 million consensus.
WuXi PharmaTech Co., Ltd. (NYSE: WX) 7.4% HIGHER; reports Q1 non-GAAP EPS of $0.20, versus the analyst estimate of $0.08. Revenue for the quarter was $59.1 million, versus the consensus of $58.45 million. Affirms its FY09 sales guidance of $265-$275 million, which compares to the Street estimate of $266.94 million.
Pyramid Oil Company (AMEX: PDO) 7% LOWER; reports Q1 loss of $0.04, compared to a gain of $0.18 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $594K, versus $1.59 million in Q108.
ViaSat (Nasdaq: VSAT) 4% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.46 versus the analyst estimate of $0.46. Revenue for the quarter was $165.6 million, versus the consensus of $169.46 million. Sees FY10 revenues and EPS growth about 10%.
Nordstrom (NYSE: JWN) 3% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.31, ex-items, 5 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.26. Revenue for the quarter was $1.71 billion, versus the consensus of $1.69 billion. Sees FY09 EPS of $1.25-$1.50, versus the consensus of $1.27. Sees FY09 comps down 10-15%.
