Joe's Jeans Inc. (NASDAQ: JOEZ) 25.5% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.03, compared to $0.03 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $21.2 million, versus $18.2 million in Q308. Operating income increased 22% to $2.8 million. Net income was $1.9 million versus $1.8 million the same time last year. Q3 EPS $0.03 was the same as Q3 2008.
Nutrition 21, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXXI) 16% LOWER; reports a Q4 loss of $0.31 compared to a loss of $0.01. Revenues were revenues $5.4 million compared to $11.0 million in the comparable quarter last year. For the year ended June 30, 2009, total revenues were $39.6 million compared to $47.1 million in the year ended June 30, 2008. Net loss for the year ended June 30, 2009, which includes the $17.5 million non-cash impairment charge mentioned above, was $20.8 million, or ($0.31) per fully diluted share, compared to a net loss in the prior year of $16.9 million, or ($0.27) per fully diluted share.
Tempur Pedic International (NYSE: TPX) 13.5% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.34, 8 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.26. Revenue for the quarter was $224.1 million, which compares to the estimate of $195.92 million. Raises its FY09 EPS guidance from $0.70-$0.90 to $1.00-$1.05, which compares to the Street estimate of $0.87. Sales move from $770-$790 million to $790-$805 million, versus the consensus of $738.43 million.
Sunstone Hotel Investors, Inc. (NYSE: SHO) 6.7% LOWER; announced today that it intends to issue 14,000,000 shares of its common stock. The underwriters will be granted a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 2,100,000 shares of common stock to cover over-allotments, if any.
Agria Corporation (NYSE: GRO) 6.4% HIGHER; PGG Wrightson and Agria today announced their signing of an agreement that provides for Agria to make an investment in PGG Wrightson and for the formation of a strategic partnership between PGG Wrightson and Agria.
Brooks Automation, Inc. (Nasdaq: BRKS) 5.9% HIGHER; expects to report revenues for the fourth quarter ended September 30, 2009 of approximately $64 million, a sequential quarterly increase of about 45%. This is above the consensus of $56 million. At the time of the Company's third quarter earnings release in early August, Brooks said it expected sequential revenue growth of at least 25% in the September quarter.
Cytec Industries Inc. (NYSE: CYT) 5.7% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.57, 23 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.34. Revenue for the quarter was $740 million, which compares to the estimate of $710.67 million. Cytec $0.80-$1.00, versus prior guidance of $0.60-$0.90 and the consensus of $0.80.
Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE: AMD) 4% LOWER; reports Q3 GAAP loss of $0.18, which may not compare to the analyst estimate of ($0.42). Revenue for the quarter was $1.396 billion, which compares to the estimate of $1.26 billion. Q3 adj-gross margin was 41%.
SuccessFactors, Inc. (Nasdaq: SFSF) 4% LOWER; sees Q3 revenues in a range of approximately $38.2 million to $38.7 million, versus the consensus of $37.6 million. Separately, the company intends to offer, subject to market and other conditions, 10 million shares of common stock. SuccessFactors sees Q4 revenue of approximately $39.3 million to $39.7 million, versus the consensus of $38.75 million.
Callaway Golf (NYSE: ELY) 4% LOWER; sees Q3 loss of $0.25 on sales of $191 million. The Street is currently looking for a loss of $0.18 and sales of $194.78 million.
International Business Machines (NYSE: IBM) 3.7% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $2.40, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of $2.38. Revenue for the quarter was $23.6 billion, which compares to the estimate of $23.38 billion. IBM sees FY09 EPS of at least $9.85, versus the consensus of $9.78.
Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) 3% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $5.89, ex-items, versus the analyst estimate of $5.40. Revenue for the quarter was $4.38 billion, which compares to the estimate of $4.23 billion.
Valmont (NYSE: VMI) 1.9% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $1.53, versus the analyst estimate of $1.07. Revenue for the quarter was $434 million, which compares to the estimate of $436.41 million. Sees Q4 sales lower, earnings similar to Q3 last year.
Nanosphere, Inc. (NASDAQ: NSPH) 1.6% LOWER; today announced that it intends to offer shares of its common stock in a public offering. Piper Jaffray & Co. is acting as the sole manager for the offering. no specific amount or price were given.
