After-Hours Movers 10/12: VASC, ININ, TCM, PIR, DARA Higher; CATY Lower

Vascular Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: VASC) 29% HIGHER; and Zerusa Limited today announced that they have received 510(k) clearance with the FDA for the sale of the Guardian II Next Generation hemostasis valve in the United States. Vascular will distribute in the US, and Zerusa Limited will distribute in Europe, the Middle East and other markets.

Interactive Intelligence, Inc. (Nasdaq: ININ) 15.4% HIGHER; sees Q3 adj-EPS of $0.28-$0.31 on sales of $32-$34 million. The Street is currently expecting Q3 EPS and sales of $0.15 and $31.27 million, respectively.

Tongjitang Chinese Medicines Company (NYSE: TCM) 15% HIGHER; today announced that it has completed the repurchase of an aggregate of 19.3 million ordinary shares of the Company in privately negotiated transactions. All of the sellers of these shares, namely ML Global Private Equity Fund, L.P., Merrill Lynch Ventures L.P. 2001, Samtung Investment Limited and Joyful Hub Limited, were non-affiliates and non-management investors in the Company. These repurchased shares constituted approximately 15 percent of the Company's issued and outstanding shares before the transactions. Tongjitang repurchased these shares for approximately $19.8 million, or $4.10 per ADS.

Pier 1 Imports, Inc. (NYSE: PIR) 12.5% HIGHER; previously announced that it is hosting an event for shareholders and members of the buy- and sell-side analyst community on October 13, 2009, during which members of the management team will provide a general update on the Company's business. In anticipation of this event, the Company has provided the following update on the third quarter ending November 28, 2009. Comparable store sales for month of September increased 9.9% versus a decline of 11.7% in September of last year. Third quarter merchandise margins continue to improve on a year-over-year basis as a result of significantly reduced markdown and clearance activity and strong input margins. Inventory levels are expected to peak at the end of the quarter at approximately $350 million.

DARA BioSciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: DARA) 12.4% HIGHER; announced today that the Company has entered into an Addendum and First Amendment to Material Transfer Agreement with America Stem Cell, Inc., pursuant to which the Material Transfer Agreement between the Company and ASC dated March 24, 2008 was amended. Under the Material Transfer Agreement, the Company is providing ASC with dipeptidylpeptidase inhibitors from its proprietary library which ASC is using to further its research and development program related to hematopoietic stem cell transplants.

Cathay General Bancorp (Nasdaq: CATY) 3.5% LOWER; today announced that it has commenced a public offering for gross proceeds up to $70.5 million of its common stock. The Company has granted the underwriter a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional $10.5 million of its common stock to cover over-allotments, if any. BofA Merrill Lynch is acting as sole bookrunner for the offering.

Bronco Drilling Company, Inc., (Nasdaq: BRNC) 2% HIGHER; announced today operational results for the month ended and as of September 30, 2009. Utilization for the Company's drilling fleet was 24% for the month of September compared to 21% for the previous month and 32% for the second quarter. The Company had an average of 45 marketed drilling rigs in September compared to 45 in the previous month and 45 for the second quarter. The average dayrate on operating drilling rigs as of September, 2009, was $15,603 compared to $15,671 as of August 31, 2009, and $16,124 for the second quarter of 2009.

Susser Holdings Corporation (Nasdaq: SUSS) 1% HIGHER; said today it expects to report same-store merchandise sales growth for Q3 of approximately 4.0%. Retail average per-store fuel volumes are expected to increase by 5.5% year-over-year.
