After-Hours Movers 09/27: CGNX, RAX, CXW, SMCI, RVBD, CBRX, RIMM Higher; ENTR, NR, AGNC, UNFI Lower

Cognex (Nasdaq: CGNX) 11% HIGHER; boosts its Q3 sales guidance from $65-$68M to $74-$76M, vs. cons. of $66.5M.

Entropic Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: ENTR) 6.6% LOWER; has filed a preliminary prospectus supplement with the SEC with respect to an underwritten public offering of 10 million shares of its common stock.

Newpark Resources (NYSE: NR) 6% LOWER; updated its previous disclosure regarding the anticipated impact of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and the related regulatory actions. The company now sees sales in the area down $3-$4 million due to the moratorium, up from the company's prior guidance of down $7-$9 million.

AGNC (Nasdaq: AGNC) 4.6% LOWER; begins its public offering for 10 million shares.

Rackspace Hosting Inc. (NYSE: RAX) 3.9% HIGHER; will replace AmeriCredit Corp. (NYSE: ACF) in the S&P MidCap 400

Corrections Corp. of America (NYSE: CXW) 3.4% HIGHER; raises its Q3 EPS guidance from 31-33c to 37-38c, which compares to the Street estimate of 32c. Also raises its FY10 adj-EPS guidance from $1.26-$1.30 to $1.34-$1.37, vs. the consensus of $1.28.

Super Micro Computer Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI) 2.9% HIGHER; will replace Watsco in the S&P SmallCap 600

Riverbed Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: RVBD) 1.9% HIGHER; will replace NBTY Inc. (NYSE: NTY) in the S&P MidCap

Columbia Laboratories, Inc. (Nasdaq: CBRX) 1.8% HIGHER; filed a registration with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission today to sell, from time to time, up to 13,852,886 shares of Common Stock on behalf of Selling Shareholders.

United Natural Foods (Nasdaq: UNFI) 1.8% LOWER; begins its public offering for 3.85 million shares of common stock.

Research In Motion (Nasdaq: RIMM) 1.3% HIGHER; unveils its tablet computer called Playbook. The tablet is slimmer and lighter than the iPad, uses a 7-inch screen and offers two cameras, one front and one rear-facing. The device runs on QNX software.

Watsco Inc. (NYSE: WSO) 1.2% HIGHER; will replace Hewitt Associates Inc. (NYSE: HEW) in the S&P MidCap 400

Jabil Circuit (NYSE: JBL) 1.1% LOWER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.52, ex-items, 3 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.49. Revenue for the quarter was $3.9 billion, which compares to the estimate of $3.89 billion. Sees Q1 adj-EPS of 53-57c, vs. the consensus of 53c, with sales of $3.9-$4 billion, which compares to the Street estimate of $4.09 billion.

Global Defense Technology & Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: GTEC) 0.9% HIGHER; announces that they have received a $26 million contract from the U.S. Army to supply camp solutions for operations in Afghanistan. Under this contract, GTEC will deliver Expeditionary Tricon Systems incorporating the latest advances in approved shower water re-use technology. GTEC anticipates that delivery of the systems will begin in the fourth quarter of 2010 and continue into 2011.

Peet’s Coffee & Tea (NASDAQ: PEET) 0.8% HIGHER; announced that in response to the approximate 35% rise in green Arabica coffee prices since the beginning of this year, it will raise the price on most drinks by $0.10 and on beans sold in Peet’s stores an average of 8%, effective September 29, 2010. The company today also reaffirmed its previously issued FY10 outlook.
